Incubus are probably the most difficult band to classify in modern rock.

I'm yet to get into them. I sampled their Self-Titled and it was fairly good, but then when I listened to their newest release, "Grime VS. Granduer" I was dissapointed. So I'm not sure what to expect of them.

I thought this was funny because he definetly chose the wrong metal thread to say that in.

VeedBok 08-28-2005 06:36 PM

I just picked up Luca Turilli- King of The Nordic Twilight, and i must say its an amazing album. Has anyone else heard this album? if so what are your thoughts.

Good of you to get that album. I don't own it yet, but I've listened to it a couple of times. Just costs to much where I can find it. "Black Dragon" is a killer track on that album. Luca's great, but I think he falls a bit short of Rhapsody.

RiceMonster 08-28-2005 11:22 PM

I like the song I've heard from him. I remember trying to decide if I should buy that album. I guess I will.

Kronos 08-29-2005 03:26 AM

Hi again good people - I have been offline due to catastrophic 'pooter failure. It is dead. Until I can get it fixed the only time I'll be able to be on here is whilst I'm at work. Like now, on Bank Holiday Monday. Lucky me :upset:

I should realy start watching some more manga, it's been to long since I brushed up on my japanees culture.

Steerpike 08-29-2005 05:04 AM

Technically, it's reading more manga, watching more anime. Watching a comic book doesn't really work. :p

Iron Bars 08-29-2005 05:32 AM

Technically your right ;) but if said manga comic is in japanees it would be watching cuz I cant read said language. Luckily they (badly) translated most of those.

Steerpike 08-29-2005 05:48 AM

To be fair, lots of the good ones like Neon Genesis Evangelion actually used professional interpreters to translate them for sale in America.

God, that was a great series. I gotta go buy the DVDs some time and get the last few issues of the manga.

Kronos 08-29-2005 07:52 AM

Hey Alex, you wouldn't be the same Alex that wrote reviews on the Metal Observer website, would you?

Steerpike 08-29-2005 07:56 AM

Nope. The closest thing I write to reviews are all my spotlights.

Kronos 08-29-2005 08:09 AM

This other Alex writes well so I thought it might be you, ah well never mind.

Iron Bars 08-30-2005 07:53 AM

He's climbing the side stage lights-tower thingy in a flowery vest/blouse. Who is this guy? I'm not to good with names.

Stoic 08-30-2005 07:58 AM

Edguy's vocalist :thumb:

Lord Abortion 08-30-2005 08:09 AM

Edguy own

Steerpike 08-30-2005 08:55 AM

I couldn't see half the pictures because I was getting some bullshit message about how the "document contains errors." Why can't a computer error message ever just tell you what the problem is without all the indecipherable techno-jargon or osme vague assertion to an error that leaves you scratching your head at its nebulous ambiguity?

On a more positive note, Edguy fucking rule.

He does look quite queer, but then again they play teh power metal.

Edguy is a weird band name too, where did they get that.

Lord Abortion 08-30-2005 09:00 AM

Alex, It's because your computer hates you...

mine didn't work all morning because it wouldn't show any internet pages, I had to let the router "rest" for 20 mins even though it had been off all night

I remember alex said something about it in his edguy FA, that they were mostly joke band at first and didnt take it too seriously so they gave themselves a joke name...

Can you see the pics here?

Apparently, it's some kind of inside joke. They never clarified what it means.

But even today they still have the jokester attitude going. Tobias wrote in his bio on the band's webpage, "A long, long, long, well a very long time ago (but not so very super long) my tranquil home village was hit by a terrifying storm. Trees were cut down, cars were blown through the air, and all of the sudden the whole village was without electricity. No TV, no Playstation, no carousels, no nothing...no light and terrible boredom.......nine months later little Tobi saw the light of the world."

He's currently working on an autobiography for the band entitled, "They Are Rockstars but Who Cares?"

Those work. I'm pretty sure that's the same outfit he wore in the video for Lavatory Love Machine.

Lord Abortion 08-30-2005 09:41 AM

haha...or the bloke from strapping young lad...

Iron Bars 08-30-2005 10:03 AM

Ah Edguy, weird people for somewhat weird music. Haven't heard anything pre- Hellfire club. Is it worth checking out?

Steerpike 08-30-2005 10:27 AM

Definately. I could upload Vain Glory Opera, the title track, to give you an idea of what that era in their music sounded like.

ArcLite 08-30-2005 10:30 AM

I personally like Mandrake a bit better than VGO. The songs flow better and have better melodies, to me anyway.
