ok the badmoon what are they?
Also Superpeer I was confused about the last part, but I guess I'll just check out the rules.

And You & I is probably my favorite too because I love the acoustic intro. Really cool stuff. And rock not roll already has a higher post count than me :upset:

EDIT: I guess that wasn't necessary. Sorry man.

IronMaidenSG 07-30-2004 09:53 PM

I was gonna say the same, but I'm not a big country fan. Although I've lightened up to it a little, I still prefer southern rock.

Kansas!

RockAndRoll 07-30-2004 11:00 PM

*is checking out the blues breakers as we speak* (listening to hideaway)
ya apparently ginger baker approached clapton at a bluesbreakers gig.

(I think the the guy meant what are Lynyrd Skynyrd - to which the answer is a classic rock band)

dantheman6991 07-31-2004 12:31 AM

i'd have to say jet is starting to bring back 70's rock... yah the beatles r just amazingly great...

StreetlightRock 07-31-2004 05:57 AM

Oh yea, and Jeremy Colson was the drummer on the night.

About Jet bringing back classic rock... they arnt really. If any thing the Darkness is, more so then Jet. If only they wernt taken for comical value so much and put out a BIT more serious stuff.

Country. *Snicker* *Thinks of Dolly Parton*

Nah, Bob Dylan is t3h sh1t.

DVG.

superpeer 07-31-2004 07:55 AM
possibly led zeppelin? what do you mean by possibly?

o and out of curiosity, i was confused by ur last comment. what did u mean by that as well.

I do however love the doors. Do you think you could recommend some dire straits songs, the only ones i know are "walk of life" "money for nothing" and "sultans of swing" all of which i love very much.

and i think voodoo should hurry up with that review.
I haven't listened to Led Zeppelin in ages, and I had mixed feelings about them; so yeah.

Some nice dire straits songs : Romeo and Juliet, Brothers in Arms, Lady Winter, Tunnel of love, the songs that you mentioned are good as well, and if you want some surf rock : Twiisting by the pool.

I like Jimi Hendrix as well, forgot to mention him, yeah I'm a pretty mainstream classic rock lover. :upset:

superpeer 07-31-2004 07:56 AM

Boston and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Hey I like more classic Rock than I thought. :D

SGdudeSG 07-31-2004 09:44 AM

magicbus 07-31-2004 09:47 AM
Boston and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Hey I like more classic Rock than I thought. :D
Great bands. Boston is amazing at harmonizing all the guitars and vocals and stuff. And Skynyrd just plain kicks ass. :thumb:

We've been over this. If anything now is bringing back Classic Rock, it's Gov't Mule.

Yea they never got the respect they deserved.

classically_strung 07-31-2004 12:50 PM

Wow, I'm surprised nobody mentions the people that influenced the beatles, and Clapton, and Zeppelin. What about Buddy Holly? He was frickin' awesome! And Chuck Berry too. You want some good classic rock, listen to their recordings

HendrixSantana 07-31-2004 12:53 PM

My favorites:

Pink floyd
Jimi Hendrix
Santana
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath

Jude 07-31-2004 12:53 PM

Does anybody else agree that Bob Dylan is the god of 20th century rock?

Badmoon 07-31-2004 01:04 PM

God is the God of 21st century rock.

SkaRobotArmy 07-31-2004 01:34 PM

ac\dc sucks. led zeppelin sucks. the beatles especially suck and were the backstreet boys of the 60s and 70s. the only good 'classic' rock is Neil young and rush..and maybe boston. dylan aint to bad either...

B0nz0 07-31-2004 01:36 PM
Does anybody else agree that Bob Dylan is the god of 20th century rock?
i agree that he is a god. i wouldn't say that he was the GOD. I think the God was the Holy Fabulous Four, aka THE BEATLES. No1 compared to the Beatles.

you my friend have no idea what you are talking about if you are comparing the backstreet boys to the beatles. First off, the beatles weren't put together by producers. They wrote their own material, and they expressed themselves creatively. They played in far more styles than just teenie bop like the backstreet boys. o yea and the beatles had talent. led zeppelin is also quite far from sucking but i'm too tired to argue with someone who's opinions are as misguided as yours...

BludgeonySteve 07-31-2004 01:38 PM

Yeah I guess Bob dylan would be god. Him or Hendrix.

rocked not rolled 07-31-2004 02:28 PM

The beatles were amazing. While not having the most skill at their instruments as other bands they managed to be the most popular band in the history of popular music. Plus their songs make me happy :)

SkaRobotArmy 07-31-2004 02:39 PM

their songs make me hit things.

SkaRobotArmy 07-31-2004 02:40 PM

they were bad musicians who made boring music. hendrix isnt very good either, maybe a good guitarist but i dont like his music.

magicbus 07-31-2004 03:19 PM
they were bad musicians who made boring music. hendrix isnt very good either, maybe a good guitarist but i dont like his music.
Maybe because your name is SkaRobotArmy?

rocked not rolled 07-31-2004 03:21 PM

Yes because there is waaaay more talent in ska than Jimi hendrix had.... And the beatles were simple but good. :thumb:

SkaRobotArmy 07-31-2004 03:35 PM

but people praise them for the amazing musicianship and all that but they werent very good. i said jimi hendrix was talented, not as talent as everyone says but thats not the point. and dont judge me because i like ska, i like plenty of other music too if you read more than just my last post.

rocked not rolled 07-31-2004 03:41 PM

right then.
