I knwo the bassline but the rest of my band never wants to learn it. I pisses me off so bad that none of them ever wanna cover some Maiden.
|
wow...a few typos there but you get the idea I bet
|
Yeh I did. You should seriously force them to. Is it the case they can't play the songs, and they don't want to admit it? Or are they good?
|
our drummer may have a hard time but our two guitarist are **** good. we just all come from different backgrounds of rock. me and the rythem are the only two serious Maiden fans but he doesn't have enough of a backbone for it I think. We almost convinced them to learn Screaming for Vengence (Judas Priest for those who don't know) though. That'll be hard for me since the bassline can be complicated at times and I have to sing and play and Halford hits some **** good notes in that song.

i've been playing guitar for about two years now... and i can't seem to find anyone else who likes iron maiden as much as i do... anyone care to open their doors to a heart longing for some simple iron maiden jamming? lol
as for best album - 'fear of the dark' best song - 'afraid to shoot strangers' (kick-*** solo in there, my personal fave) best cover art - 'edward the great' worst haircut - nicko mcbrain in toronto on the powerslave tour |
I'd love to jam with some people and do some Maiden. Sadly, Jersey isn't really a rockin' state. Not anymore anyway. All the rockers are either old or mainstream crap. Oh and we have lot's of emo and rap too. Not much real classic rock or metalheads though.
|
Of the Iron Maiden albums I have, i like brave new world a lot and also dance of death. I dont have many but i think theyre awesome, and I'm always looking for more.
My favoruite Maiden song is the clansman performed by bruce, followed by montsegur. I hope they will tour again before retiuring as i've never seen them live, and Id really regret it if I didnt. |
no more major tours :upset:
but if you wnat more albums pick up Piece of Mind or Powerslave. Cant go wrong with any of them though if you ask me. |
I have a question. Out of all the Maiden songs I've heard so far, The Trooper is my favorite.
However, I got to thinking which war is being talked about. Key points to consider: Fighting against Russians. Soldiers riding horses. But guns exist, as stated in the song. What war do you think is being talked about, or do you think it's just some random made-up war? |

Haha, yeah, but I know more about WWII than I, so that's why I did not think about I.
All right, thanks. :thumb: Anyone here live in California? I live in the San Fernando Valley. If you don't know where that is, it's the county next to L.A. |

****it! now i start missing My Maiden England VHS(i have the "killers" Vid on my computer...) **** tv rental company who dont want to give it back... i hate rented combi-televisions... at least they can check them for videos... :upset:
Oh, yeah, i gotta ask: Do you people Rather Wanna see an Iron Maiden Tribute band who just play Iron Maiden songs, Or Do you wanna see an Tribute band who plays, act and dress like Iron Maiden on stage, the last one probaly will look alittle stupid, but hell, I wanna be 'arry when my tribute band starts playing out :p |
I'd rather see them look like Maiden on stage. Way more fun. I'd love to dress as Steve or Bruce and play some tunes on stage. Just don't change your last name to Harris while doing this and it'll all be fine.
Oh, and yes it should be Number of the Beast but I didn't make the thing so I just gotta work with what I have. You know how it is sometmes. |
Iron Maiden own

neh, not yet, i can ask the vocalist from the drummers band, shes 'kin crazy, so i think she would have done it :p and we are currently missing 2 guitarist... but im on the hunt :thumb: |
well best of luck. can your vocalist hit 'em like bruce could back in his prime? It's da.mn hard sometimes. Make sure you guys run around like wild brits up there too! oh oh oh and if you can't tell I really wish I were doing this too. :thumb:

Out of curiosity....what, in your opinion, are Dickinson's best vocal performances?
I'm afraid that this may have been done earlier in the thread, but..let's be honest here, there are 67 pages!! |
Aces High, Number of The Beast, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Trooper, Ghost of the Navigator are all good
|
Yeah. I like the title track from Brave New World and Dream of Mirrors alot. IMO, his voice matured very well on that album. Although he may not be hitting quite as many highs as in the classic era, his timbre is excellent and songwriting incredible.
But...I've got to say, every time I hear "2 minutes to Midnight," I can't help but sing along. |
yeah he did mature nice at that point. NPFTD and FOTD were a dark time for him(well not all the tracks) but he did nice on Brave New World and Dream of Mirrors and The Nomad are two of my favorites off that album.
I like 2 minutes but it got boring after awhile (sorta like Run to the Hills) |
I like how Run to the hills starts out, but I hate it when it goes into the chorus.
The Trooper, Hallowed be thy Name, Aces High, Flash of the Blade, Invaders, Revelations, Paschendale, Dream of Mirrors, Blood Brothers, and I can't get enough of the verses to Moonchild. I live in Gloucester County. Yes Bruce is amazing but he doesn't hit the notes as often, which makes it more of a treat when he does I guess. yes they are still Maiden songs and they are both good but there are so many better :D

I like 2 minutes but it got boring after awhile (sorta like Run to the Hills)
yeah, gotto agree there.. its great songs but after some years they get a bit boring, but thoose are the only songs i think that about.. *Bump* Frail: what you think of Maiden Tribute band live? :p |

Gah! The chorus is the best part! |
He obviously aint a Maiden fan if he dislikes the chorus of Run to the Hills. It's classic!
