Whats wrong with corey?
|
Whats wrong with corey?
The only thing wrong with Corey Taylor nowadays is that he cannot scream as well as he used to. It sounds really high pitched compared to the screams he used to do back in Slipknot and Iowa, and that sort of annoys me at times. |
Well, to answer Remedy's question he has throat problems.
|
Whats wrong with corey?
The band had to cancel a show in Utah because of doctors orders. |
I think Corey's voice is still awesome, but it makes the old songs sound worse. Maybe the doctor can get Corey's old scream back? Heh, that'd be pretty cool.
|
I really don't see a problem with Corey's voice now, I think it still sounds pretty good, even if he doesn't sound exactly like he used to pre Volume 3.
|
this will probally happen to a lot of death metal and nue metal bands as they get older i know its sad but thats what happens when you scream for a living
|
Anyone know of any metal bands that can compete with Slipknot. Im not trying to replace them, i just need some fresh stuff...killswitch and shadows fall cant do the job

Mushroomhead. Same idea as Slipknot (right down to masks/matching jumpsuits), just more melodic/symphonic. Or...you could try Nile. Loud, fast, hard...freaking amazing. |

Lamb of God should do the trick. And on another note, does anyone else think that Vermilion Pt. 2 is a good song? I just listened to it again and am really jealous of Corey's vocal ability. What are your thoughts? |

I'm not trying to brag or anything, but Corey's clean voice seems to be able to be replicated very easily...by me, i think. Hes got a great voice, just not a very original one... |

Who is the genius behind Vermillion?
|
Corey writes lyrics and the band write the music so i guess it's a collective effort.
|
Do you know more detail?
|
Who is the genius behind Vermillion?
Hey...Frank? If it isn't you just disregard this. I can give you some CDs that I think you'll like, I can show you them first on my iPod or something. /direct message |

Are you talking about vermillion pt 2?
|
I heard that Jim wrote both Circle and Vermillion Pt.2 guitar parts while on the Iowa tour.

Yeh, I heard that most of the songs were written on the iowa tour, For guitar. |
Anybody see the new video for "Before I Forget"?
Its my favorite video of their's, even though its very simple. And yes............ THEY TOOK THEIR MASKS OFF!!! Don't get to mad. Their faces weren't entirely shown at once. Just parts of their mouth or eyes, or somewhere in that area. I wouldn't really call that selling out, but I know many of you will(I really think the masks are stuipid anyway, but they are obliged to keep them on). Go to www.launch.com, and check out the new video. |
It's not selling out. Just goes to show you they'll do what they want, even if it means taking there precious masks off. They'll go from straight up teen angst nu-metal, to mature musicians who can write great metal music if they want, and they'll go from masks on to masks off if they want. Hell, they'll even make a record of random brutalities and sneek a few mutters of "666" in there.
I saw this coming. I'm pleased too. |

No offense, but try listening to something that is actually heavy. Try Nile, Vader, Amon Amarth, Morbid Angel, Death, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, or Cryptopsy.. those ought to do the trick. |

I know the guy, he wont like any of those bands, except maybe Death. |

You know, alot of people talk about how Slipknot 'aren't heavy'...but you gotta realize, you can't compare Slipknot to any of the bands you listed. Slipknot are not death metal, they are just metal. Compared to said bands, Slipknot isn't heavy. But to say they aren't 'actually heavy' is quite the ignorant thing to say. |
