Hammerfall? I always thought of Joakim Broden as more like a Swedish version of Lemmy, than another version of Joacim Cans, but okay...

Stoic 07-21-2005 09:51 AM

I must buy Primo Victoria, forgot to look for it the last time I went down town. Maybe I'll upload something off First for Fight later. I bought it along with Slough Feg's Traveller (my first SF album). Both were incredible discoveries and they're two of my favourite bands.

NP Sabaton - Primo Victoria

he's in no way close to the guy from hammerfall

Shattered_Future 07-21-2005 09:53 AM

Slough Feg is by far THE weirdest band i have ever listened to...

I could never really get into Sabaton...like Leah said, something about the vocals just made me not like this band.

I think I got into them thanks to the vocals. They add balls to the music (=not typical cheesy sounding power), if you know what I mean.

Steerpike 07-21-2005 09:56 AM

The vocals are appropriate to the lyrical subjects. They give it a coarse edge, while still maintaining a belting theatrical tone that adds to the Wagner-ian feel of the songwriting.

Something about the way the music is reminded me of HammerFall. I don't know, it's just me.

yeah this is what I meant. I can write like this when I have plenty of time

Shattered_Future 07-21-2005 10:07 AM

I suck at writing lyrics...

More suited to writing music.

Stoic 07-21-2005 10:11 AM

lyrics and music I could write though music I cannot play.

/when did this syntax come from?

Shattered_Future 07-21-2005 10:13 AM

I looked that word up on dictionary.com, and I'm STILL not completely sure what it means...

Something about the order of a sentence...

Stoic 07-21-2005 10:16 AM

haha, I know what syntax is (it's a greek word). The order of the words in the sentence "lyrics and music I could write though music I cannot play" just seemed weird to me :p

Shattered_Future 07-21-2005 10:22 AM

Ah...

Sentence sounded fine to me...had a bit of an ethnic flair, if you catch my drift.

Kronos 07-21-2005 03:19 PM

I think that sentence structure was fine, if a little under-used in the early 21st century.

Very english, if you don't mind me saying so.

Steerpike 07-21-2005 03:24 PM

Reminds me of things I've been known to say, actually.

Stoic 07-21-2005 03:28 PM

*blushes*

it just came out naturally...

/now I know where I was living in my previous life

Kronos 07-21-2005 03:31 PM
Reminds me of things I've been known to say, actually.
Well, I think you are actually part English, Steerpike old chap! :)

Lord Abortion 07-21-2005 03:38 PM

I was just saying a similar thing about Alex in the comm. thread, odd eh?
I have been listening to all the edguy that he posted and I really like them, so much so that when I get payed tomorrow I will order hellfire club.

and MF- I was talking about something that only shadow-stalker would know about yesterday about band practice arrangements- sorry
on that subject, if he reads this Louie and I are coming down to comrades at 12 tomorrow anyway and I will try to call him tomorrow...

Kronos 07-21-2005 03:40 PM

Do you think he'd be upset if we made him an honorary englishman?

Stoic 07-21-2005 03:42 PM

no, I think he would love it as he would love to live in a europian country :D

WetNoodle 07-21-2005 03:42 PM

Sorry for taking so long on this, but I have been really busy lately.

I'm currently uploading the new Helloween song to YSI...It's taking its time :upset:

Kronos 07-21-2005 03:46 PM
no, I think he would love it as he would love to live in a europian country :D
OK, all those englishmen who are in favour of making Steerpike an honorary englishman (with dual-nationality of course) say "I"

"I"

WetNoodle 07-21-2005 03:49 PM

Well what do you know? It's done.

Well there you have it.

Stoic 07-21-2005 03:51 PM

haha, "I"
I'm currently uploading the new Helloween song to YSI...It's taking its time
This album had better be equal to the 80s keepers otherwise its title will be blasphemy.

we can also bestow a knighthood on him...

Or make him a lord - which sounds better "Sir Steerpike", or "Lord Alex of Steerpike"?

It does not compare to the original keepers. At least this song.

Check it out, make your own opinion.

Mine is:
I like the song, it think it's the "catchy" song off the cd. But I don't like that the album is called Keeper Of The Seven Keys: The Legacy, seems...inappropiate.

Stoic 07-21-2005 04:05 PM

hmm...I'll download it as soon as I'm finished with my uploads.

the latter would be better, I would be honoured to have him at the same rank of nobility as myself

Alas, I am but an untitled plebian, but my family does go back a long way; to the dawn of mankind in fact, something of which I'm very proud. It's not everyone that can say that :D

Stoic 07-21-2005 04:19 PM

there you go guys, I upoload these songs on megaupload and not on YSI so that Steerpike can download them too.

Thunderstorm. The song that got me into Sabaton
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=369GRTP4

Gene-ocide. The song that got me into Slough Feg
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=36S18890

I discovered both bands on the same day, one after another!
