This place actually isn't all that open minded anymore :upset:.
It is really, a lot of the regulars are pretty open-minded. There are exceptions though ~stares meaningfully around~

Zappa 11-11-2004 02:16 PM

I'm open-minded, and I don't want to hear anyone else's opinion on the matter if they think otherwise.

Happymeal 11-11-2004 05:31 PM

I'm discovering Jaga Jazzist right now.

Tangy zizzle 11-11-2004 05:44 PM

Happymeal, you rule.

Happymeal 11-11-2004 06:33 PM

..'Cause I learned from you guys. :-*

The songs from JJ's site are awesome. I'll sure get an album sometime.

Pinback are starting to be one of my favorite artists right now, and I've only heard a few songs at that.

kirkrock85 11-11-2004 07:11 PM

I've been listening to a lot of wilco, air, the postal service and the animals...

Zappa 11-11-2004 07:16 PM

I'm listening to Mike Watt's "The Secondman's Middle Stand" right now. Sort of forgot how good this is.

Well_Respected_Man 11-11-2004 08:16 PM

Wow, I doubt anyone hear has heard of this one. It's the Faust Tapes from Faust which is some rarity they released just after signing to some label. It's genious stuff and unlike some of Faust's other stuff I never get bored of it. Basically it's a 45 minute track with a bunch weird mini songs and ear candy. At one point they even play a catchy chainsaw melody, Great great stuff. Doe anybody else like Faust?

I also want to do a CD review of it but I fear it will go unnoticed like my Magazine review.

el doctor 11-11-2004 09:03 PM

Where'd you happen to find this? I rather like Faust but I've never heard of this.

YDload 11-11-2004 09:21 PM
I'm listening to Mike Watt's "The Secondman's Middle Stand" right now. Sort of forgot how good this is.
Mike Watt's side projects are a lot different than Minutemen, right? So what's this one like?

Well_Respected_Man 11-11-2004 09:26 PM

I got it from my dad. He got it for around a dollar because when it first came out because the record label was trying to use a gimmick to promote the band. The version I have has a different covor (blue) and is one continous track unlike the re-relasewhich has seperate tracks. Actually I'm kinda confused about which one is official as I either found one or the other as I was googling it.

el doctor 11-11-2004 10:17 PM

So is it actually unreleased music, or more of a demo tape of the self titled album?

Reaganista 11-11-2004 10:32 PM

i'm listening to the delgados.

keep on breathing is a good one. the rest I've heard isn't horribly impressive.

YDload 11-11-2004 10:41 PM

"Big Dick" is also a very good song, although it doesn't seem to be one of Zappa's favourites.
Today I got Evermore - Dreams, and I am very impressed after one listen.
My friend sent me the single off that album and I was like "meh". Then I listened to it playing in the shop and the rest of the album is waaay better.

Happymeal 11-12-2004 05:51 AM

Big Dick, lol. That reminds me, I have to get Wrong and the rest of Bright Moments from you this weekend, Alex.

Tapeworm 11-12-2004 08:32 AM

I only know two albums - Wrong and Small Parts Isolated & Destroyed. They are good albums, nothing spectacular and they are kindqa boring.

Good band though.

Tangy zizzle 11-12-2004 02:58 PM

I have one song in my soul-seek folder.

I have an album on CD. If I'm feeling nice I'll upload it.... but I'm kinda computer-tarded so I doubt it.

Soulseek, I dare say, will have them.

It sounds nothing like the self titled album it's more of a side project kind of deal, I found it on amazon and allmusic easily.

Tangy zizzle 11-12-2004 03:15 PM

Faust as in Faust the krautrock band?

Well_Respected_Man 11-12-2004 03:19 PM
