Now, we're a militia. :p

classic_rock_n_punk 07-07-2004 11:46 AM

im 15 and i love classic rock,
ac/dc/boston/pink floyd/led zeppelin/guns n roses/van halen/eric clapton/ozzy/ are huge right now.i think its cuz rock now a days isnt as good as back then.many young teens are learning to play guitar, drums, bass and the good music is in classic rock.in 2 years i predict that classic rock will become as twice as popular as today.

RockAndRoll 07-07-2004 12:18 PM
I Saw Clapton 4 Dys Ago! He Is God!!!!!!
did you know the first time he saw "Clapton is god" he thought it said good at first and when he saw what it actually said he was very taken aback?(understandably)
p.s that's awesome!
Air Canada Centre?
Yep.

..

Badmoon, we should invade somebody and become a country, and when we do you can be in charge of our militia.
Actually I live in London. :p
I always thought you were Canadian. And Rockn was Canadian, and Voodoo was American, and so am I

Midfi3ldRock3r16 07-07-2004 12:52 PM

The one thing i like about classic rock is how the bands would put out entire albums that were good instead of the crap nowadays where we spend $15 a cd for maybe 3 or 4 decent songs. I'm a big fan of any classic rock and really don't think many of the guitarists of nowadays really match up to people like Page, Townsend, van halen, Hendrix, and the other guitarists of that time...

ROM 07-07-2004 01:02 PM
who played "classic rock" in '61?
Creedence Clearwater Revival did

Kentucky Fried Chicken 07-07-2004 01:24 PM

Holy **** I remeber when this thread was 20 pages long! its big.

Badmoon 07-07-2004 01:35 PM
Creedence Clearwater Revival did
They weren't known though.

BludgeonySteve 07-07-2004 02:02 PM

I never get to go to any good concerts :( It's because no good bands ever come to Calgary. If I lived in a big city in the US I would get to go see tons of concerts but noooo I live i nCalgary. Eric Claption would never come to this **** city :(

Paranoidd 07-07-2004 02:06 PM

^^^

But you have the Flames! Minus Conroy as of today....better hope they resign Iginla.

BludgeonySteve 07-07-2004 02:12 PM

Notice the title of this thread. Classic rock. The flames aren't classic rock.

 What if they were? That would be so kick *** :D

Paranoidd 07-07-2004 02:16 PM

the Flames used to rock...therefore they are classic rock :)

At least your team surprises everybody...I'm stuck with the Leafs. We KNOW they are going to suck every year.

Badmoon 07-07-2004 02:22 PM

White Zombie use to rock, but they're not Classic Rock.

Paranoidd 07-07-2004 02:23 PM

I used to rock :(

Dark Hero 07-07-2004 03:02 PM

magicbus 07-07-2004 03:54 PM
what do you mean by the other disc?
BludgeonySteve 07-07-2004 03:55 PM

Heh rob zombie does suck. :(

BludgeonySteve 07-07-2004 10:19 PM

It seems to me that classic rock stars get the most ass out of all musicians. Or GOT the most ass in their day.

RockAndRoll 07-08-2004 12:35 AM

That show was the most amazing experience ever. It was sooo much fun. as well as doing a bunch of his robert johnson covers he pulled out alot of his other stuff, including layla, I shot the sherif, Badge, Sunshine of you love, Wonderful tonight and the list goes on and on. All the musicians were amazing keyboardist, organist, guitarists, drummer (steve gadd!), bassist. Every body got a long solo (well more than one) except bassist and drummer (although the bassist in the group that opened had a solo.). The organist did great soloing, he'd sort of played whatever he was doing (he played a sort of laugh as he looked to be laughing) for a bit and did a bunch of other great stuff. The guitarist playing alongside clapton was playing left handed with the strings reversed. And for the encore, they had the lead guitarist from the other group, who, played his guitar on sort of a table in the same way jeff heely plays come out and play as well. All in all the show lasted 3 hours, and it was absolutely amazing, my hands were sore from all the clapping by the end. Maybe i'll talk about it more tommorow, but right now it's 2:30 in the morning.

BludgeonySteve 07-08-2004 04:42 PM

^:( Way to be all show offy.

Badmoon 07-08-2004 08:51 PM

death before disco 07-08-2004 09:25 PM

If you were a rocker in the 70s, it was a given that you were getting *** every night.

BludgeonySteve 07-08-2004 09:32 PM
Today I bought An American Life. The Jerry Garcia biography.
You'll have to write a review on it when you're done.

Badmoon 07-08-2004 10:24 PM

It's a big book, but yea, we should all do that :)
