I like Chemical Warfare better than Angel of Death, although the post-chorus riff in AoD is just plain evil...
|
Haha, yeah, Chemical Warfare owns every other Slayer song, except for Tormentor. You have to admit, that for 1984 it was totally the best thing around. The middle break is such a bloody head banger!

Well, actually, it was released in 1984. Show No Mercy's recording was finalised in late 1983 (Novemer/december) but it wasn't released until Feb 1984. :thumb: ... But anyhow, I was talking about chemical warfare. :p |
you're all wrong. your opinions are wrong. jesus saves is clearly the best slayer song.

Yeah, what song was he listening to? I like Altar of Sacrifice better than Jesus Saves, but the two together are ****in awesome. |
I was wondering if I could join the Titans of Thrash. I've heard Darkness Descends many times over, GREAT GREAT stuff! My album will be, of course, Bonded By Blood (BBB).

It's the same as my avatar exept the first image says 'MX titans of thrash' instead of "MX titans of thrash DD" |
Alrighty, thanks!
GPB, if you could give me the link for the avatar, that would be great. |

Celtic Frost, good times.
I picked up Testament -'The Ritual' and Iron Maiden '7th Son...' I haven't gone through teh Testament cd, but to those who have it, what are your opinions on it? It doesn't seem as thrash or heavy as The New Order or Legacy, but has some pretty good riffs and leads by Alex. |

The makers of "Get Thrashed", the upcoming documentary profiling the thrash metal scene of the early Eighties and its impact on the music scene, have posted a third preview clip via the project's official web site.
The third clip features guitarist Scott Ian (ANTHRAX, ex-S.O.D.) sharing an interesting story about the first time ANTHRAX played Los Angeles. It was a "triple threat" bill with headliners RAVEN, ANTHRAX and a "special guest" opener, STRYPER. Also included is a special "bonus" clip featuring EXODUS members Zetro Souza (vocals), Gary Holt (guitar) and Tom Hunting (drums) discussing the "thrash metal attitude" and how the shows provided a release to the fans (and the bands as well!). Check it out here www.getthrashed.com (go to the "Media" section). As previously reported, filming for "Get Thrashed" was recently completed and the show is currently being edited. Post-production should be completed in late spring/early summer with an air date and location to follow soon after. "Get Thrashed", the brainchild of director Rick Ernst, a longtime freelance producer for MTV, will include interviews with METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, EXODUS, GODSMACK, DISTURBED, SEVENDUST, TESTAMENT, OVERKILL, DEATH ANGEL, SHADOWS FALL, MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, STONE SOUR, SUPERJOINT RITUAL, LAMB OF GOD, VIO-LENCE, KREATOR, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, VOIVOD, CHIMAIRA, BIOHAZARD, FOZZY singer/WWE superstar Chris Jericho, SEPULTURA, KITTIE, THE HAUNTED, D.R.I., SOILWORK, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, HEATHEN, Brian Slagel, Jon & Marsha Zazula, authors Ian Christe ("Sound of the Beast") and Steven Blush ("American Hardcore"), NY metal radio DJ Eddie Trunk, "Radio Rampage"'s Ron Quintana, as well as unsigned thrash bands OSMIUM, CONCRETE COFFIN and VISCID. |

anyways some megadeth news :) MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has revealed the track listing for the group's new CD, tentatively due later in the year through Sanctuary Records. It is as follows: 01. Blackmail The Universe 02. Shadow Of Death 03. My Kingdom 04. Of Mice And Men 05. Truth Be Told 06. The Scorpion 07. Kick The Chair 08. Something That I’m Not 09. Tears In A Vial 10. Die Dead Enough 11. Back In The Day Mustaine has also posted the following message in the band's official forum: "Droogies! "Well, the day has come and I am packing it in. "Yesterday was the last day in the studio, I finished the last solo and the last sentence of the last song, and the week before all of the remixes were done, so . . . it is time now to prepare all of the goofy administrative stuff that goes into an album. "I was listening down to all of the songs until after 11:30 PM last night when I finally told Jeff Balding that I had to go. I had a meeting to be at, at 7:00 AM this morning, but as you can see I didn't make it because I got really ill again. "The songs to me are fantastic. There is a lot going on, there are amazing solos by both 'Polie' and myself, loads of double bass, fast parts, slow parts, beautiful singing, Mustaine snarls, yelling, gang vocals, voice-overs, special effects, and layers of intricate sounds in the background that Jeff and I are deciding on what will help the song and what will not. "For example, last night we were working for almost half an hour on whether or not to put the sound of a jail cell door clanging shut (kinda like in 'Captive Honour') in a song called 'Kick the Chair'. We ended up muting it for now, but it was a tough decision because there is a lot going on right there already (you'll see soon). "This incredible amount of layering, I believe, will be 100% acceptable and expected when I start on my solo work, but for the MEGADETH music that we have all grown to love and enjoy, I have to be cautious. "Don't want to get slagged here at my own boards now, do I? "I am excited as hell to know that I am going to see the old guard today. Jeff Young got in last night, and Chuck Behler and Nick Menza come in today. I have told them all that I am not going to be there, because I wanted to surprise them, and pop in to see the looks on their faces after they hear what we all did to make them shine! "I also just want to see them and tell them thanks and that I love them and I wouldn't be where I am today without what they did with me. |
