I've never really traveled my entire life. It really blows. :upset: I've been to...five US states, all of which are basically directly connected to Ohio, so it didn't feel adventurous at all. I've never been out of the country, not even to Canada. :(

And now that I really want to leave home and go away to college, my parents are freaking out about it. I could rant for hours on this topic but I'll spare you. :p

Where do you want to go to college?

Florida. Whenever I say this, people always assume I'm just trying to live in some tropical paradise, and blah blah blah etc. etc. I honestly don't care about the state at all (since I love snow so much), but I found some great schools that are far from home. That's all I really care about.

Deth 02-24-2006 08:54 PM

Come to UF, that's where I'll probably end up.

That would rule.

Thats Gainsville right?

Deth 02-24-2006 08:59 PM

Yeah. It's the best school in the state (apparently) and with me being in state and having a good GPA, SAT scores and so on, I'll probably go there.

I would have gone there because we were supposed to move to Florida last summer. My mom decided not to, so we stayed. My ACT, SAT and GPA scores were right where they should be or slightly higher. I would have probably gone, but now I dont want to go that far away.

Where in the state do you live. I was going to move to the Fort Myers/Bonita Springs area.

Deth 02-24-2006 09:11 PM

I'm close to Ft. Lauderdale. I actually can't stand Florida and I'm not planning on staying long after college.

It seems boring. Its fine for vacation, but living there all year seems kind of dull. Maybe it was because the West Coast of Florida is more for retired people. We go there on vacation because my grandmother lives there.

Shadows 02-24-2006 09:22 PM

No one ever likes their home state. I hate Ohio with a firey passion and I'm pretty sure I'd like any state better than this. Plus I have some friends down in the area of Florida I'm going to, so I won't be alone.

I like Pennsylvania a lot, and I absolutley adore Philadelphia (aka Illadelphia aka Illadelph Halflife).

Of course, there are always exceptions...

But I'd still like anyplace better than Ohio. This place has nothing but the memory of glass, a legendary amusement park that I've been to so many times I don't give a damn anymore, and burnt out Jeep plants.

I used to live in New Jersy and I liked it. I now live in New York and I love it.

It's hard to find someone who thinks Philly's boring though.

Okay, you guys are ruining my point. I bet if you had stayed in New Jersey you'd hate it by now.

No, not really. Some of my best friends live in Jersey and I only moved two years ago. The area I lived in was 30 minutes from Manhattan and there was always things to do.

No.

That sucks. I never tried to record anything, but I wanted to. Your post is making me change my mind. Whats so fustrating about it?

Stormrider 02-24-2006 10:31 PM

I want to record some stuff soon. If I ever get Audacity...With my cheap mic the quality will be so bad :p

NP Opeth - In Mist She Was Standing

TheDMV 02-24-2006 10:34 PM

I've recorded with my bass teacher before. It's tough at first, but it gets easier with time.

GenuineImitation 02-24-2006 10:35 PM

What exactly is so tough about it?

Stormrider 02-24-2006 10:36 PM

It just gets frustrating. You record, sounds kind of bad, record again but your angry so everything falls apart. I have recorded once. It went fine, but I watched my brother record a few times, and sometimes, he got angry and stopped playing.

That does sound pretty tough. I still want to record though.

Ive wanted to forever too.

Ive been saving and dreaming for months and months. Ive wanted to do it for several years. SO I get the stuff, and then I cant use any of it because I need to buy firewire card for my comp. So, Im so close I can taste it, and then I have to wait another week, and spend 40 more dollars.

So today I got what I needed, and I install everything. The manual for my gear is extremeley vague, and I dont know what to do. It comes with software and dosnt explain it at all. And every step I take that does make sense, I do, and then something pops up and it dosnt work. I try and figure it out through mx, but theres only so much you can say typing. I need someone to show me in real life but theres no to help me do that.

Edit: I cant even start, I know im screwed once the hard stuff actually starts. I know its gonna be a reality check once I actually start recording.

Im so close I can smell and taste it, but I cant do it.

I wouldnt let what happened to me stop you from doing it though. Its not like I'm giving up.

Np- Jurassic 5- Qaulity Control

GenuineImitation 02-24-2006 10:40 PM

That stinks. You could probably find a more in depth manual online or off of a P2P program.

Stormrider 02-24-2006 10:41 PM
That does sound pretty tough. I still want to record though.
Yeah same here. Quality doesnt help sometimes too. A little mic will have to for now.

NP Pagans Mind - Through Osiris Eyes

gillygan 02-24-2006 10:41 PM

And yes, I did 10 different google searchs, and none gave me anything.

GenuineImitation 02-24-2006 10:43 PM

I dont even have a mic. I may get one soon. Does the mic come with a program that records?

gillygan 02-24-2006 10:45 PM

That depends. Most likely no. You could get audicity for free and record it. The Black Fist uses audicity and he has some extremley awsome guitar tones.

http://putfile.com/kronpox

He did the laid to rest ones in 20 minutes and hes got some awsome tones on those tracks.

Hes got some awsome opeth covers in there too.
