Sort of silly rock. They have two bassists, guitar, and drums. One bassist and the guitarist sometimes play keys. They write danceable rock music that isn't very heavy and has some definite tongue-in-cheek elements.

Does anybody around here own a Creative Zen MP3 Player? I'm thinking about buying one, and I'd like to know if they are a good way to go.

Jacaranda 08-25-2005 09:26 PM

Oh, I do! They are the pretty good considering the price and space they hold. But one thing I wish was that I would've gone for the 60 GB but other then that no problems. My friends make fun of it cause its a bit bigger, but it is pretty durable, I've dropped it a couple times.

Zmev 08-25-2005 09:27 PM

I have an ipod, go take a nap.

I was gonna go for a 20GB one.

Oh, I've got a 30 GB, but its almost full. You'd be surprised how fast you can fill it.

Zmev 08-25-2005 09:43 PM

Mine's 20gb and beyond filled.

Zappa 08-25-2005 09:50 PM
Zappa, do you know a band named Ignorant Mob?
I do.

Little Man being Erased 08-25-2005 09:50 PM

Yeah, I can imagine. But I figure I can just delete stuff and add new stuff and stuff.

Zappa 08-25-2005 10:20 PM

Are you from the Marquette area?

Zappa 08-25-2005 10:55 PM

Ah, gotcha.

Jacaranda 08-26-2005 01:18 AM

Well, Jane's Addiction is getting trashed in Iai's Modern Rock Poll.
/is angry.

br3ad_man 08-26-2005 06:38 AM

You're at someone else's house until that time?

Wow, I didn't know Rocket From the Tombs were pre-Pere Ubu. So that's why the vocals sound so familiar.

Just got offered a contract/start date for my job at Natwest. I'm going to be getting £15,000 a year starting pay (which was more than I originally thought) & I'm going to start my job/training in mid-October. I can't wait!
True. Lots of people make a career out of that.

Here's the track. Ignore its fidelity:

I liked it ;)

Glitterati 08-26-2005 11:32 AM

In my opinion, the Aquabats are pretty darn nifty.

Quoted for truth.

I may have mentioned my current situation with every piece of musical equipment except my acoustic guitar sitting in Providence waiting for me to get there, but I was banging around on the acoustic a minute ago and I came up with a little riff and a chord progression and I just wanted to see what the Alt/Indians thought of it.
Sounds good, Jon. The chords sound a little awkward coming in from the riff, but it sounds very good then. Nice chords
Yeah well. I'll do it carefully and cleanly at some point. Thanks man.

The NPC 08-26-2005 03:38 PM

Hmm, interesting. It'll take more listens to see if it was actaully "good" so I'll have at it.

Jacaranda 08-26-2005 03:43 PM

Oh no, Hurt N' Heal finally got closed. That game was going nowhere.

Yeah enough of the Pokemon. From now on, no more of those threads in this forum.

Zappa 08-26-2005 04:00 PM

Yay!

I'm just wondering about the concept, because I'm well aware of the quality issues.

That's fine, I still need to give it more listens.

Not bad. It had a kind of "country" feel to it, though. To me anyway. But I dunno, maybe that's what you we're going for?
I'm moving back to school tomorrow, I don't know if I'll have Internet right away.

Bye.
I told you so! But here I am.

CarnageFairy 08-26-2005 09:51 PM

I spent about 3 hours today downloading album cover art from allmusic and putting them in the folders for all my albums so that the cover art shows up.

Hooray.
