scarface- the diary
no tears CLASSIC |
The Drones - Here Come The Lies (just dawned on me how brilliantly noisy and fiery this record is)
The Dead C (selected songs) Proof - "Kurt Kobain" (very very cool song). |
The Day They Shot A Hole In The Jesus Egg - The Flaming Lips
So very good. I love their cover of What A Wonderful World |
I think it's a little weird that the first song off the new TMV album is (allegedly) gonna be called "A Vicarious Atonement" when the new Tool album opened up with "Vicarious."
And both songs are/will be about seven minutes long  Not that it has anything to do with how it will sound (haven't listened to them yet, trying to wait just a bit). It's just a bizarre coincidence. |

I Would Set Myself On Fire For You - Believes in Patterns
Why have people getting so excited over this? This is really really pretentious, and whats more it can't even pull it off due to the mediocrity being blasted into our ears. FAIL. |
Triosk - The Headlight Serenades
Raccoo-oo-oon - The Cave Of Spirits Forever Something For Kate - Echolalia
I think it's a little weird that the first song off the new TMV album is (allegedly) gonna be called "A Vicarious Atonement" when the new Tool album opened up with "Vicarious." This week has been all about Giant Sand (mostly Chore of Enchantment and Is All Over the Map) and the Feelies (all of their albums) for me. They have nothing in common besides awesomeness.
Is the cool thing to post your last.fm stats? I wanna be cool: Cat Power 24 Tindersticks 18 Radio Birdman 18 Six Organs of Admittance 12 My Bloody Valentine 11 Françoise Hardy 11 The Hold Steady 10 The Smiths 9 Lou Reed 8 The Czars 8 |

It's amazing that the same band can make songs as poppy and brilliantly catchy as Ah Ha, Pepper or TV Star and make songs as abrasive and brilliantly disjointed as 22 Going on 23, Graveyard or The Shah Sleeps in Lee Harvey's Grave.
Word. 22 Going on 23 freaks me out every time. |
THe call at the start of that was made by a woman who always rings up that radio station telling lies.

The Doors- st
The Crystal Ship, Alabama Song, End of the Night, and The End are perfect songs. They exemplify perfection. |
A rare bit of mx being online allows me to say hi everyone :)
There's a new Mastodon song up on their myspace called "Crystal Skull." Sounds really tight. I got one of the new Mars Volta songs as well, but unfortunately it was just the intro track "A Vicarious Atonement." Not that it's necessarily BAD, but it doesn't tell me anything about the new album. It's like an extended "Son Et Lumiere" with neater guitar parts. Oh well I guess I wait a little longer. |
I've been digging Ziggy Marley's new album. I think it's really great. I don't want to overstate it, but I want it to get the hype it deserves, too.
|
I've been digging Amputechture by The Mars Volta, Tetragrammaton and Meccamputechture give me orgasms
|
Kavinsky's Teddy Boy EP got me in the mood for some 80s classics, so I've been spinning that along side Human League's 'Don't You Want Me' and 'She's Like The Wind'.
And Owls. |
Harry and the Potters - Voldemort Cant Stop the Rock
Rollerskate Skinny - Horsedrawn Wishes God Is An Astronaut - The End of the Beginning Failure - Fantastic Planet |

Considering this place will no doubt, in the next few days, stay as ****ed as it has been for the past few, and considering you all need to know what I'm listening to, I'll hook a brothahhh up.
