hello user squirrel
|
Discovered today that Brutality's Screams of Anguish, which my mate had soulseeked, what I've heard of it being pretty cool, old-school with a distinct doom influence, has been re-released earlier this year.
|
that sentence is a maze.

it's good stuff, nothing extremely stellar but a fun listen. |
Obituary is ****ing amazing live. Ralph Santolla stood on my hand for like 60 seconds of Chopped in Half, but I didn't bother telling him to get off and I couldn't get it unstuck, either.
Unleashed was pretty good too. Their vocalist is quite a man. |
I almost went to that two days ago. Lack of sufficient funds.
|
Yeah, it was definitely well worth it. Obituary played for well over an hour I believe.
|
What kind of turnout was there?
|

hey how are you doing |
Pretty easy to understand take more college english courses non-elites
i understood it, doesn't mean that it couldn't be split into more comprehensible sentences. |
What kind of turnout was there?
For Unleashed there wasn't a lot going on really. I was hugging the rail for every band (well, Obituary and Unleashed - **** the local scenecore bands) and there was a solid row or two behind me of people. Obituary had a lot of people. I was at the front and there was this fat Mexican behind me who kept crushing my ribs. Every time someone would run into him he'd just ****ing squish my stomach against the stage. |
How do you know he was a mexican?
Talking about mexicos, I'm going to listen to some Chasm in a bit. |
Well I don't know; he reeked of alcohol, had the skin color down, had the goatee under control and didn't look like a white man, black man, or asian.
I didn't know Obituary would attract so many drunk mexicans, though. |
 yes, he was mexicos
|
guess you could be happy he wasn't shirtless, then
|
At my venue, they pull shirtless people out of the pit, when the place isn't packed.
I guess they just tell them "wtf mang you stink put a shirt on" and then let them go back if they get a shirt on. |
so guys, to occupy my spare time that I have an abundance of I am going to write a 4-5 song death metal demo/ep with Incantation, Autopsy, Immolation and Gorguts being the main influences
gonna try to have it written completely by December and I plan to record it with my friend's gear over winter break. |
Cool. I look forward to hearing it.

VomitStainedCretin, you forgot guitar punching. Can't be Gorgut influenced without violence against instruments.
|
7-8 minutes might be a little overambitious since it's going to be the first material I've ever written. Maybe each song will be between 2 1/2-5 minutes.
I have about 10 riffs right now, I'm working on my vocal delivery and thinking about how to make drums mesh with the riffs (by listening to lots of Incantation...) and the Gorguts influence is going to mostly be in odd chording and arpeggios like on From Wisdom to Hate, I'm not even going to bother trying to emulate Obscura |
immolation are known for meshing things!
|
Look forward to hearing it, your taste in death metal is very similar to mine.
|
I'm about to check out Arghoslent- Hornets of the Pogrom. From all the praise I'm hearing I'm amped to hear it.
|

if the badassery of the riffs I have written now is any indicator it will be a wild success not sure if I'm gonna use programmed drums or a real drummer yet though; I only know one drummer who can actually play and I don't think he knows much about death metal drumming |
Time to teach him.
|
yeah, programmed drums are lame :x
|
Just got the new Misery Index :)
|

Definitely, you could even get someone you know online if that's a doable solution, because you don't wanna suffer from BRA syndrome. |
