Little Man being Erased 01-11-2007 08:12 PM

Iai 01-11-2007 08:37 PM

I haven't really stopped listening to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot since I got it to be honest. I should give Being There a go, maybe.
Still digging Scott Matthews - A Passing Stranger, and digging James Carr - You Got My Mind Messed Up again. Nothing much new to report, except that now I have a Har Mar Superstar album to dig, instead of making do with youtube videos. He's so awesome.

Not so much digging the fact that Robert Anton Wilson just died.
That sucks, man.

I haven't listened to Sky Valley in a long time.

Kyle 01-13-2007 05:55 AM

Yeah, my first time in months. It feels fresh again.

ATM 01-13-2007 07:10 AM

This guy I work with runied Kyuss for me. He only listens to them or Pantera.

Kyle 01-13-2007 07:12 AM

Haha, I remember when I listened to Pantera.

Hahah.

ATM 01-13-2007 07:13 AM

He is going to get a Cowboys From Hell tattoo, and has Dime Bag stuff all around his desk. There is a giant map of USA above his desk and he has a giant Dime Bag cut out pasted over Texas.

Electrocution 01-13-2007 08:20 AM

so do you ever hear about a band a lot, but you never really get around to checking them out, then when you finally do you discover that they are really, really good? yeah well that happened to me with Drive Like Jehu.

AlienEater 01-13-2007 09:31 AM

Drive Like Jehu are amazing.

Its very good, but its still the only Bardo Pond album I've heard so I can't compare. I could upload it to sendspace or something if you want. What other albums of theirs would you recommend?

Bukowski 01-13-2007 06:53 PM

Ruins - Vrresto

this is ****ing crazy.

Iai 01-13-2007 07:45 PM

I can't stop listening to Scott Matthews. It's like acoustic Led Zeppelin and Donovan and Jeff Buckley and a dash of Van Morrison and Neil Young and aww. It's so good. "Elusive" is like a sequel to Jeff Buckley's "Nightmares By The Sea" that's even better.

It's funny, because he's coming from exactly the same influences as Jeff Buckley (there's major dashes of kwaali, even), and there's a slight similarity in his voice, but he doesn't actually sound that much like him. Anyway, brilliant album.

Archers of Loaf- Icky Mettle

This is a band you can love. Seriously. No pretention, great pop hooks, and fuzzy guitars. . . Everything thats great about early 90's indie rock!

all that, and 'Web in Front' just might be the most perfect pop song ever written.

Lapsed is my favourite. It's pretty amazing. You don't have to upload TC as I'll probably get it soon. I appreciate the offer though.

I've been digging a shitload of Melvins again, especially Stag, Honky and A Senile Animal

Cory Chisel album is kinda neat; borderline MOR, but it has enough hints of soul and country to make it worthwhile. Guy has a really nice voice.
