what ever your favourite music is disconection, what would happen if you couldn't find it second hand, yet you had all their other stuff? Say beatles but no White Album, or no Sgt peppers?
|
would you still call yourself a fan?
Idiots are drawn to internet forums(period). I'd say that pop punk has it worse than rock and metal. As does the pit.
Who likes Kim Mitchell? Let me re-phrase that. Who's heard of Kim Mitchell? I assure you guys that he rocks :). He's just straight up hard rock with killer guitar solos.
Post some mp3s if you can. I'm always open to something new. |
I used to be the only classic rock fan when I was 11 now all of a sudden its a fad. What the Hell is up with up that EH.
My 1st post in this thread^ *feels proud* |

There are a couple of live Doors albums. |
There's a difference between not having the maligned records in a band's catalogue and not having two of their essentials.
It's like someone not owning Highway 61 and Blood on the Tracks and saying they were a Bob Dylan fan.
I don't own 'The Wall.' The only thing I own from Pink Floyd are 'Dark Side of The Moon', 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Delicate Sound of Thunder.' Does that make me a non-Pink Floyd fan? |

to slowhand
Not Really, youre still a floyd fan, but Floyds the only band that i actually want to 'buy' all the stuff for. I own about 6 of their albums, some DVDs and posters. I really cant get enough of them. and i have some sweet floyd pics on the comp that i want to use for my avator, but as soon as i buy obscurred by clouds. Suits it well. but yeah, i got desktop themes and tons of guitar tablature and stuff like that. IT seems like ive only been learning their songs since 3 months ago. In fact, i should update my profile since i finished learn SOYCD and am learning something else. and i dont own the wall either, since it cost too much right now. i did take a shortcut their, but ill own it soon |
Isn't strait up Hard Rock what we usually don't like?
I don't mind straight up hard rock. |
ACDC, Jet, Kiss, etc
|
Yeah, the point I was trying to make it's that you really can't be label as a fan just because you don't own one of the band's album.
I'm one of the biggest Beatles fan I know, and if someone ask me which albums of them should you not buy, one of them will Sgt. Pepper. Shocker. Though I admired what Pepper did, I find that it's a boring album. Fixing a Hole, Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!, Lovely Rita and Good Morning Good Morning are probably the worst and most bloody boring Lennon/McCartney songs there are. And I sometimes get bored of listening a Day in the Life. But because of that, I don't considered myself a lesser of a Beatles fan. I considered that the White Album its their best album, but other people think its Pepper or Abbey Road. It all comes down to a matter of personal tastes. |
ACDC, Jet, Kiss, etc
Those bands can get repetative, but I was thinking like Deep Purple or BOC, where every song doesn't sound the same, at least I consider them straight up hard rock. |
To Everyone: Quicksliver Messenger Service's Self Titled is so badass...
Happy Trails < S\T |
Deep Purple aren't really strait up though.
Shrooms today, very intense weed yesterday. |
Hard Rock with meaning is better than power chord hard rock.
Thanx its off the cover of the new Syd\Floyd DVD.
There's a new Syd/Floyd DVD? |
Hey Badmoon, I was looking at your rateyourmusic thingy and I can send you "Endtroducing..." if you want it.
Oh that'd be awesome. Pick something out of my list that you'd want (if anything), and I will also send you it :D. |
Go on amazon and search Syd Barrett.
|
Badmoon - Wake of Flood is interesting, some high points and some parts I don't like.
 JPJ wouldn't do that to me :( |
^I agree with whoever said that.
|
^I agree with whoever said that.
The blasphemer lunch said that. |
Thats why I said "whoever"^
|
Who did the original version of "Black Betty"???
I could never figure that out. |
Nazareth?
|
^I agree with whoever said that.
You are just trying to be Anti-Grateful Dead. Ever since I said Barrett is overrated like 3 months ago, you've been all on my ass about Anthem of the Sun sucking. |
Nazareth?
I thought it was Ram Jam. |
guys, straight up hard rock can be good if it has the proper energy. For example, Bon Scott AC/DC, Kim Mitchell, Jeff Healey (before that jazz  ).
|
Thats why I said "whoever"^
And I was telling you who "whoever" was. |

I dont carry grudges man.....I did downloaded Wake of the Flood because you said it was great album and I thinks its a 4 stars album and yes it has weak points. |
What points, I want thorough explantions prick :p
|

I agree with you that Barrett is somewhat overrated. Thanks a bunch for sending me the album, I'd probably give it 4/5 but it is far from my favorite Dead. |
I bought Last Exit yesterday, it's a great album. I listened to it twice yesterday. The two live tracks are pretty good, I like their use of the organ. And the record was only ten bucks...although I got a speeding ticket for 120 on the way there.
