I can't be bother to check but I know james plays the last short solo. Kirk play riffs and stuff at the beginning, then james joins and they both play same thing I think.
cool cheers
10? who was it given by?
I wonder how you got 10. All of the Mod's were reset to a baseline of 2000 and no one has achieved elite user status yet so I don't think anyone gives out 10.

coolidgeALL 03-18-2005 07:48 AM

Yea, his voice has changed a bit over the years, I still prefer Ride the Lightning and MOP, AJFA, and even the black album.

Six Foot Revolver 03-18-2005 07:52 AM

Sorry to change the subject but did Metallica have any bassists before Cliff and who were they?

ThrashMaster27 03-18-2005 08:00 AM

Ron McGovney.

Six Foot Revolver 03-18-2005 08:04 AM
Ron McGovney.
Alright thanks. :thumb: What happened to him?

coolidgeALL 03-18-2005 08:12 AM

he croaked

Six Foot Revolver 03-18-2005 08:34 AM

how? :upset:

ThrashMaster27 03-18-2005 08:45 AM

He didn't die. He just got replaced by Cliff.

Deth 03-18-2005 10:31 AM

It's a good thing he was replaced, imagine the first 3 albums without Cliff. It wouldn't have been the same.

Anyone else here thinks its about time James or Kirk put out a signature distortion pedal? I love their sounds and its seems theres getting to be a few more artist pedals every month. The ones i know of so far are the Zakk Wylde, Dimbag, Dan Donegan, Eric Clapton, etc.

Rattlehead 03-18-2005 12:50 PM

yea definately. i saw zakk wyldes one in gear magazine. its brill. i immediatlely thought that kirk or james should do somethin like that

Rattlehead 03-18-2005 12:53 PM
Yea, his voice has changed a bit over the years, I still prefer Ride the Lightning and MOP, AJFA, and even the black album.
really he jus changed the way he used his voice, i think he could easily go bk 2 his old style if he wanted 2

coolidgeALL 03-18-2005 12:56 PM

Yea, I think he could too... if he wanted too...?

sg_sacrifice 03-18-2005 01:21 PM

Rattlehead 03-18-2005 01:31 PM
but i love his voice on KEA and RTL
yea, it dont sound like the james in black al or load/reload or garage, where he sings as a bass singer if he wonts 2(loverman: theres a devil waitin outside your door...). all his voice varyations are crackin, i think

sg_sacrifice 03-18-2005 01:35 PM
but i love his voice on KEA and RTL
I like his voice in all of them except Ride The lightning... Its not i dont like it, i just prefer the others..
I guess everyones view is different though, When i first listened to S&M i thought he sounded really wierd, but i got used to it, i love the vocal work in No Leaf Clover, its amazing, took me a while to get used to the ending though! (When it COMES to be yeahh!) lol
Its all good i suppose

I have always wondered if they will go back, Metallica is a train that keeps flying forward, will they go back to their old ways, or will they just keep trying things new? We will know soon enough i hope!

Cliff had a huge impact on the music..
Jason had a huge impact on the music..
Bob Had a huge impact on the music..
I don't see why Rob can't have a huge impact on the music either! :D

yeah, i just recently discovered this song, cause i never really listened to it,but one time when i was on MX i wasnt paying attention to my cd player and this started playing and i was like ****!!

wrongnote85 03-18-2005 05:29 PM

the one i always used to skip over was trapped under ice, and now i think it's totally rad. like 10 solos and IMO the coolest bridge riff they've got. well that may be pushing it, but i still love it

FlyingPaul_83 03-18-2005 06:28 PM

My least favorite part of trapped under ice are the solos. they just dont feel right in that song

\m/Pete\m/ 03-18-2005 06:48 PM

I think i like james voice best on "Little Boy You're Goin to Hell" the song they did for the south park movie..which i ve posted below

http://s24.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=36C0BDQHEYAXN2DU6W88XXNOGO

Garage Inc and Load are pretty close to on my favs for his voice. Its much more controlled and mature with a better range. I dont mind his voice on KeA, but its not my fav.
