fix'd

Brue on Spoonful is better than Clapton on Spoonful methinks.
I fixed it.

That is true especially on the studio version, because Bruce plays Harmonica, which is mainly the lead instrument.

What does everyone think of Cream? As we're on the subject of Zeppelin, Do you think Ginger is better than John? Comparison?

Illmatic 12-16-2004 06:16 PM

Cream was great, but Bonham was better than Baker, methinks.

Cream is one of my favorite bands.

Bonham got a lot of his stuff from Baker, so it's a tough comparison. Bonham got to do more things, and you can hear how he evolved over Zeppelin's catalog. You can't do that as much with Baker because of the limited amount of material he has. (Limited material with Cream, you can't see him evolve that much in his smaller projects after Cream)

crazyman 12-16-2004 06:16 PM

Cream as well is another boring band

BludgeonySteve 12-16-2004 06:16 PM
i gave 3 bands as example, there are more
Well of course there are over hyped bands. That's just how some music is, people tend to overhype something that they think is good. ;)

Plus every genre has its overhyped bands and its underrated ones.

I'll agree that Led Zeppelin really gets a lot more credit than they deserve. But, if so many people overhype them, I guess they're rightfully overhyped.

eh, opinions.

Got a favorite classic rock band? That's usually how people introduce themselves here.

introduce myself, don't act like you don't know me:p:p

my favorite classic rock stuff (if it counts in here) is stuff like Black Sabbath/Ozzy anything with a bit if a heavier edge to it

Badmoon 12-16-2004 06:24 PM
Considering Bass wasn't JPP's primary instrument, he does a great job.
This is kind of like an excuse why JPJ isn't up to par with other bassists, but you probably didn't mean it that way.

jpj 12-16-2004 06:26 PM

Black Sabbath is certainly classic rock, one of my favorite bands.

We said that on bass Entwhistle and Bruce both own JPJ. I wasn't trying to make a case that he should be up there with them. I was just pointing out that he played piano far before bass, but he is usually only thought of as a bass player.

crazyman 12-16-2004 06:29 PM

Iron Maiden as well is one of my favorites

Might want to try out some Deep Purple. No, not just Smoke on the Water. Listen to some Bloodsucker, Living Wreck, Flight of the Rat, and of course, their best song, Child in Time.

Rithcie Blackmore played guitar for Gene Vincent before Deep Purple

Since when did everybody like Neil so much!?!

That guy probably brought Neil into the Pearl Jam discussion because he was their main influence. He even did an album with them.

*stayed home sick and found some great pyschidelic bands.w00t
