This phrase has been used so many times in the Community Thread history.

I almost bought a Funkadelic album the other day, but I didn't have the cash. Which of their albums is best?
Maggot Brain is considered their best, and I really like Uncle Jam Wants You.

And I was just about to say something about that phrase.

Illmatic 06-27-2005 09:34 PM

Also look into Funkadelic's One Nation Under a Groove.

I'm downloading whatever Med posted in his thread right now.

That would be Maggot Brain.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-27-2005 09:43 PM

Dancin' Man- The dude from KSE has the most uber wicked mutton chops. :p

Maggot Brain is an excellent track. It's just a 10 minute guitar solo, but man, it's downright amazing.

Not true...it's also got the greatest opening lines in the history of LPs:

"Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time, for y'all have knocked her up. I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe, and I was not offended, for I knew I had to rise above it all or drown in my own shit."

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-27-2005 09:51 PM

That is a very bold line, I must say. But, I'd like to know how she got knocked up the 1st 2 times. :-/ What was he referring to, anyways?

Sideburns would SO get anybody a record deal from Roadrunner/Metal Blade these days.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-27-2005 10:02 PM

What happened to all the hair talk? :upset:

Hey Ray, did you ever check out any of the jazz metal Pete uploaded? I remember you saying you would or something.

ICB- @ sam'ich comment- :amaze:

It's all in jest. I love you Leah.
@ Roadrunner comment- Sad, yet seemingly true. :-/
Yes, my band was joking "if we write a bunch of songs that sound like the one we're writing now, and grew out lambchops, we'd so be on Metal Blade touring with Unearth and As I Lay Dying".

So here I am, on a weird big armchair that seats two people, with my gf asleep next to me with her head on my shoulder, and I'm IMing/surfing the net on my laptop, watching TV, and I have the AC blowing right on me. Good times.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-27-2005 10:43 PM

I'm actually not even on AIM. I use Trillian, thx to Jumbucket. (If fucking sucks, but it's better than not having AIM) :p I tried downloading and installing AIM, but my computer has some kind of prejudice against downloading it or something.

Wassup, Ryan.

I'm working on making an informative Manntis thread right now in celebration of tomorrow's CD release... Not often you see a local band release a CD on Century Media (I already got it before they signed to Century Media, boo ya).

 Hey! Orange is my angry and/or attention-getting font color. :upset:

ICB- what kinda music is it? Do they have Mutton chops? If the answer is B is yes, there is no need to answer question A. (lol metalcore++)

You have taught me well. In your absence, I took up the torch of power metal, and have recently managed to locate some Wuthering Heights songs. They will soon be featured in one of my weekly spotlight.

I was looking at one of Riva's links of an argument between Steerpike and some guy, but I saw that...

Riva 06-27-2005 11:22 PM

Well, Frail's just returned, and his avatar is fine, also. I think it has to do with being active just before the crash and the shift.
