Slug - (forgot your name, sorry.) I'm really not sure. I want to get something that I will listen to for a while, I hate downloading stuff that I end up not liking all that much.

Ray - Well, I wouldn't usually babysit two little ones (they are my sister's charge), but I desperately need the cash, and she couldn't all this week. The things you will do for a new guitar....
I plan to get a job that I will enjoy next month sometime. Maybe the bookstore or the music store.

ATM 07-18-2005 11:34 AM

My name is Christian, or Chris if you'd like.

Well do you want something hard or soft? :naughty:

Taste_My_Scythe 07-18-2005 11:36 AM
My name is Christian, or Chris if you'd like.

Well do you want something hard or soft? :naughty:
I think I'll stick to Christian, so I don't get confused between you and other Chris.

Oh, just about anything will do. :p

Illmatic 07-18-2005 11:36 AM

The ladies only like it hard occasionally, Chris :p

Leah: Oh.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-18-2005 11:39 AM

Leah: Oh.
*thinks* Well, since we're talking me here, what do you think I would prefer?

Thor 07-18-2005 11:39 AM

Here is a question for my fellow MXers: Have you seen Mind of Mencia? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

ATM 07-18-2005 11:39 AM

I've been digging this group called Esbjorn Svenssons Trio. If you like jazz, give them a try.
Here is a question for my fellow MXers: Have you seen Mind of Mencia? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
I fell asleep to that last night.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-18-2005 11:40 AM
I've been digging this group called Esbjorn Svenssons Trio. If you like jazz, give them a try.
I'll look them up, thanks. I like almost everything.
...keyword: almost.

Thor 07-18-2005 11:41 AM

Another question: who has seen that creepy video Rubber Johnny?

Illmatic 07-18-2005 11:41 AM

Whoa!

Either you didn't pick up on what I said or you want to launch the most awkward discussion in R&M Community Thread history.
Here is a question for my fellow MXers: Have you seen Mind of Mencia? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
Carlos Mencia is as funny as a funeral.

I've seen Rubber Johnny.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-18-2005 11:44 AM
Another question: who has seen that creepy video Rubber Johnny?
Haven't heard of it.

I got Christian's joke, but chose to turn back to the music. Sorry, about that.

Christian - They didn't have the band on the music store. No results found.
Carlos Mencia is as funny as a funeral.

Yeah, and he killed an N64 with a giant hammer. I was so pissed off.

What did you think about Rubber Johnny?
Haven't heard of it.
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/flash/rubberjohnny.html

Enjoy, it's quite strange.

clearvision 07-18-2005 11:45 AM

What is the song in rubber johnny?

ATM 07-18-2005 11:45 AM

So today we have learned that Leah likes it hard.

Illmatic 07-18-2005 11:47 AM
I got Christian's joke, but chose to turn back to the music. Sorry, about that.
Oh...well, then, you were talking music. Okay.

In that case I've really only seen you talk about metal, so I would imagine harder/heavier stuff. Unless you do have some mellow side no one here knows about.
Yeah, and he killed an N64 with a giant hammer. I was so pissed off.
I didn't watch it long enough to see that...I saw his "monologue" or whatever, where all his jokes are like, "OMG, race!"
What did you think about Rubber Johnny?
It was pretty creepy at first, then it was just weird.
So today we have learned that Leah likes it hard.

Yep, as hard as she can possibly get it.
How am I pervert?
You aren't. That guy is just a fool.

ATM 07-18-2005 11:50 AM

Leah, try some Kings of Convenience as well. Such a good acoustic band.

Drugstep 07-18-2005 11:51 AM
How am I pervert?
I kid. Basically refering to your silly 'she-likes-it-hard' talk.

I don't know what anybody's talking about. But I'm assuming we're talking about music.
That guy is just a fool.
I'm cool in spare doses.

Nah, I will try anything once, but I find that I do prefer the harder music.

 Nice, guys. Don't go spreading it around.
Moses - yeah. lol.
Leah, try some Kings of Convenience as well. Such a good acoustic band.
I'll see if they are on the site.

we wont... ;)

aaaaaaaaaaaand Ollie's back!

since I have bollocks all I want to catch up on, I will say that Edinbrough was good, a good Uni in a nice city that I would consider going to, I saw noone remotely \m/ there though, and the English literature courses have 24 applicants to every place available, so another Uni would probably be a better option.

:p

Well, the site did have Kings of Convenience, but they are a little too mellow for me. The site didn't have Wuthering Heights or Edguy though, which sucks. Right now I kinda feel like I want some new melodeth or something really hard and melodic that I can headbang to.

Gotcha. ;)

That sucks; sounds like me wandering around in Italy. Your first time to Edinbrough?

Drugstep 07-18-2005 11:58 AM

Try God Forbid, The Haunted, or Heaven Shall Burn.

Illmatic 07-18-2005 12:00 PM

Alice in Chains? Soundgarden?

I already like God Forbid, but I'll check out the others. Thanks.
Alice in Chains? Soundgarden?

Grunge?
Come on, Ray! I'm a metal chick! :p
What do you listen to? Weren't you in the big arguement about rap?

Bartender 07-18-2005 12:04 PM

Alice in Chains were never really grunge, to be fair.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-18-2005 12:05 PM
Alice in Chains were never really grunge, to be fair.
Weren't they?

Drugstep 07-18-2005 12:06 PM

They weren't like Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots. They were heavier and darker.

As for Heaven Shall Burn tracks, I'd get The Weapon They Fear. The chorus is killer.

That's true.

They don't have Heaven Shall Burn on the site. Weird.

Illmatic 07-18-2005 12:07 PM

"Grunge" isn't a sound, really...Alice in Chains and Soundgarden (both fairly sludgy and Sabbath-y) don't sound very much like Nirvana (poor man's Meat Puppets) or Pearl Jam (poor man's Neil Young) at all. AiC's Facelift has been described as being more metal than grunge (even though I don't know enough metal to say for sure, it's pretty hard/heavy stuff).

Taste_My_Scythe 07-18-2005 12:08 PM

Maybe I'll check out some stuff from that album. I just remember that what I heard of them I wasn't too fond of. Can't remember what it was though.

EDIT: Pretty cool. I like I Can't Remember. The dude's voice sounds familar.

Bartender 07-18-2005 12:09 PM
Weren't they?
Not really. They had grunge-y characteristics, to be sure, but from what I can tell they seem to have been called grunge mostly to associate them more closely with the Seattle grunge bands that were gaining popularity, and boost record sales (which worked). They always sounded too metal, too heavy, to be grunge, though.

Soundgarden too, to a lesser extent.

Drugstep 07-18-2005 12:10 PM

I intend to buy Dirt in the future.

It's not that wierd that they don't have HSB. Hardly anyone knows about them. Shadows Fall is another good one, and I found out about HSB through them.

Illmatic 07-18-2005 12:10 PM

You do that plz.

/likes Alice in Chains and Soundgarden
What do you listen to? Weren't you in the big arguement about rap?
I have Chris Rock's stance on rap:

"I love rap music, but I'm tired of defending it"

Hell, my username is a rap album.

I like a lot of music, though. I wish guzzlefish wasn't down, then I could link my album collection.

You're not really defending it in the same way though, right?

I love rap music too.
