Jake, you're such a hardass.

Deftones = meh. Townsend = :thumb:
Deftones are more meh than Townsend, but I still like them both lots. I'm been on a massive Deftones kick for the past week. I burnt my friend White Pony a few days ago, so we've been jamming out to it pretty much several times a day. Digital Bath creates quite the atmosphere upon THC inhalation.

bannished to the CR thread where drug talk makes up 90% of the dialog.
Yes, I mean absolutely terrible.

I still haven't gotten through the album I downloaded. I listen to one song and then can't listen to another for like a week.

I'm sorry but Im going to have to kill you now.

I can see how you and most people wouldn't like it, but Thats exactly why I like them.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-02-2006 01:52 AM

I enjoy Sunn O))) if I'm really in the mood for it.

bassAliens is great.

oic.

I don't like it because there's nothing to it. I might as well not be listening to music because there's no actual music going on. Why is that appealing?

It is music but there is no harmony and no melody. They create a false sense of chaos. I love 20th century stuff like that.

Invicta_Veritas 04-02-2006 02:32 AM

So Myspace is being retarded and won't let us access either of our sites..........and won't show half the pages of the site itself.......
So I convinced a group of girls that I got in a car wreck with my friends. On April Fools. They drove half an hour to my town's ER to check up on my friend who had a 'broken leg.'

Talk about me being badass.

PS: Listen to Deftones and Devin Townsend in succession is a great musical experience.
You only listen to Devin Townsend because of me!!!:smash:

Oh and Sunn 0))) makes me poop. The sound is just really unsettling and it's really hmm.... They know what they're doing, but to many people it's really unpleasant.

Live shows, at least for some.

Jev 04-02-2006 06:12 AM

I went to see my mate's band last night. They were pretty good despite the fact that they're emo. There was a band on after them that was a Meshuggah clone but I liked them. They were so out of place being sandwiched between two emo bands though.

Mr. Night V2.0 04-02-2006 06:12 AM

So, My Aunties gettin married, I'm off to Download, and Iron Maiden.

This is gonna be a good year. Except I got banned last night, and missed all the washboard fun.:(

Jev 04-02-2006 06:15 AM

Why was you banned (again)?

I agree.

Jev 04-02-2006 09:32 AM

A band I know is selling itself for one gig on Ebay. Whoever wins can have them play anywhere they want. I think that's a pretty good idea.

Sleepy 04-02-2006 09:49 AM

Good morning MX. How goes things?

Jev 04-02-2006 10:04 AM

I'm bored. and writing a song.

That's pretty hypocritical. Those two should cancel each other out.

They don't for me. I can write songs bored. Of course they don't turn out as good as songs i do when not bored.

Shattered_Future 04-02-2006 10:53 AM

We wrote a song last night...wrote, recorded, and produced a 1 minute song in 20 minutes last night. Ultra tr00 black metal in the vein of INM.

Toaster 04-02-2006 11:05 AM

A lot of my best songs come from when I'm bored. I'll pick up my guitar, play some random stuff and come up with a riff I like. Then I'll run upstairs to my computer to record it, and I'll just keep coming up with stuff I like.

Using iTunes, how do you put track names onto Notepad? My friend showed me once but I forget how.

To export all the song information into a text file, select Library or a playlist in the Source list, then choose File > Export Song List. Make sure "Text files" is selected in the "Save as type" pop-up menu.

All information from the Info window for each song is exported, not just the fields currently displayed in the library or playlist.

To copy the information (in the columns that are visible) for just one song, select the song and choose Edit > Copy, then choose Edit > Paste in another application (for example, an email or text document).

I can write 1 minutes songs fine, It's just writing longer ones that sucks.

Illmatic 04-02-2006 11:29 AM

Hey does anyone know of any MP3-to-car hookups that work for an MP3 player other than an iPod?

My gf just bought me one but it only works for iPod...I wouldn't mind getting an iPod but I don't want to buy one too quickly

Start a grindcore band. Or a hardcore punk band.

Shattered_Future 04-02-2006 11:47 AM

He's got an idea there...

Indeed. For an example of how writing one minute songs can be awesome:

Either that or iTrip.

Hardcore and grind are normally short song genres, yes, but you can make really short songs for any genre.
Hardcore and grind are normally short song genres, yes, but you can make really short songs for any genre.
Short prog songs?

That'd be like 3/4: 60 bpm, then 12/16: 150 bpm and to finish 5/8 at 210 bpm all in one minute. I'll try that.

i am the robots 04-02-2006 12:03 PM

Haha, I kinda left out prog, but it's not really a genre in its own, you know? Bands of any genre can be prog, this is like the anti-prog.

You can use a tape deck converter. I use tape deck converter that came with a car ready portable CD player in my Creative Zen.

Good idea.

Shattered_Future 04-02-2006 12:28 PM

Or you could be like Townsend (who I just reviewed), and have like 5 actual songs and about 8 or 9 transition songs.

Transition songs? You mean like songs in between songs?

I was nice and commented. ;)

Oh ok. You should also leave out Doom, you can't create ambient in one minute either. :-/
