I've got Highway Star, one minute.
Thank you very much. I really need that one.

Since Alex Skolnick is mentioned in this week's installment, I had a really cool track of him playing a jazz version of Highway Star with the Alex Skolnick Trio, but of course now I can't use it. Stupid ****ing iTunes.

Oh, I love his jazz band.

Don't know if you saw my last post, but I'm RCA, not 88FJ. :p

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-17-2005 09:41 PM

Right now, I just played the funnest jam session ever. /cues circle time

It all began when the cable from my guitar to my processor began to puke out on me. I decided to take out my processor and just play guitar to amp. You know, kick it old school. My amp is a 10 watt Ibanez practice crapbox, so I was kind of sad about that, but instead, I just cranked up the volume and overdrive, and jammed for 20 minutes at full blast. I can't really describe how fun it was, but I'm sure some of you guys know what I'm talking about. Just sitting down, wailing on your guitar. It was amazing.

RCA 07-17-2005 09:45 PM

I may have the same amp as you.

Yeah, I know how you feel. You don't have to worry about equipment as much as what you're playing. It "frees your mind" so to speak.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-17-2005 09:48 PM

It's not like I'm constantly fiddling with the pedal though, but something about that analog overdrive just owns digital effects.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of guitar do you have?

RCA 07-17-2005 09:52 PM

I've got a Jackson Soloist-1, a Hamer Flying V, and a starter pack Ibanez.

I'll chat with you about guitars tommorow sometime, I need some sleep. Yardwork wore me out today.

Thanks, I edited my post. You can see. :p

Thanks for the uploads, Chris and JP.

Now if someone had "Prelude in C" by Bach I'd be pretty much set. And "Difficult to Cure" by Rainbow.

Illmatic 07-17-2005 10:10 PM
Ah, okay. Good song whoever did it. I love the guitar in the SLF version..what's the Marley version like?
It's a lot softer than a normal Wailers tune, I think Rita wrote it instead of Bob. I still like it a lot.

I don't fancy myself a Harry Potter fan...I don't like fantasy all that much, plus the writing itself is very dull.

Dammit, Lucas. If you had asked that question when I was online, I could have given you a choice of 4 versions of Highway Star, and about 60 other Deep Purple songs. Aaaand, I can try to upload those two tracks for you. One second.

EDIT: Did you want it in C Major, C Minor, Pipe Organ, Concerto, Violin and Harp?

G'Night, dude. Sleep well.

Justin, who's the bloke in your avatar?

Fans of Emmy Rossum, I am uploading three tracks from the Phantom Of The Opera (movie) soundtrack, possibly the best soundtrack that I have ever heard.

The character Holly, the ships computer, played by Norman Lovett (sp?) from Red Dwarf

Riva 07-18-2005 06:03 AM

Awesome. I have yet to see Red Dwarf, but Bartender told me all about it.

NJMetalMeister 07-18-2005 06:28 AM

if you like sci fi shows, and comedies, it is seriously the best show ever. Because while it is quite nerdy and science fiction-y, the humor can stand alone on its own even without all the sci fi stuff in it.

Plus the character of the cat is played by a guy who used to dance in the background for Wham! in the 1980s, so really, how can you beat that?

Jom 07-18-2005 06:50 AM
I got songs off iTunes for 'em, but the files are MPEG4 and worse, they're protected, so they can't be burned to disk, converted, or sent to anyone else.
Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong :)

Burn them to disk with iTunes. Why would you purchase a protected song and not be able to a) burn it to disk or b) move it to a portable device?

Just burn it to a CD-RW, then rip it onto the computer, and there you have .mp3 format. Easy as pie/cake/Iai's old avatar.

The thing is, the protected files can only be burned to disk no more than seven times.

Incorrect. I tried to burn those files to disk and it did not work. I made a playlist consisting of the songs I wanted to use, and the message I came up with was: "None of these songs can be burned to disk." And you CAN move it to a portable device: your iPod.

I'll give it another try, but it really did not work.

EDIT: I saw in the help section that you can burn the playlist seven times like you said, so I'm quite perplexed.

EDIT 2: Never mind, I figured out what I was doing wrong. Stupid mistake. Sorry for my hotheaded response. ;)

Drugstep 07-18-2005 09:36 AM

Morning MX.

I really liked the avatar you had before the boobs. Bungle In The Jungle.

I'm a Rossum fan, or atlesat a fan of the way she looks, but I heard those tracks a while back and they're pretty cool. I'm gonna get around to watching the movie sometime this month.

NP - Stereomud - Breathing

ATM 07-18-2005 09:39 AM

I change it quite a bit. Don't worry, the Bungle will rise again, in all it's glory.

Drugstep 07-18-2005 09:42 AM

I'm into the Gunslinger avatar for the long haul. He's not going anywhere, folks.

I intend to change to yet another brilliant user title on Wednesday however.

And now: Flavor ice.

Same here but I change too often :upset:

I think I might go without an avatar for a while just for the change :)

I change my avatars a lot. I'm staying with Gilmour for a while though, cause I've never sported an avatar with him in it.

Illmatic 07-18-2005 10:28 AM

I'm gonna stick with Nolan Ryan until I find something I like better.

I dunno, seeing the name "Berzerker" made me think of that.

 Hello thread.

Worked this morning. It was then that I realized that I really don't like little kids all that much and don't plan on having any. Way too crazy.

I still have three downloads left with Connect Music Store, any suggestions?

ATM 07-18-2005 11:27 AM

What kind of music are you in the mood for?

Illmatic 07-18-2005 11:27 AM

Chris and Leah come here complaining about their jobs/complaining about finding jobs, after Alex spent a while complaining about his job until he quit it.

The lesson, as always: Work is for suckers

Moses 07-18-2005 11:32 AM

I like my job.....
