Sometimes it's hilarious, if it's a comedy (like Kung-Fu Hustle, which had me rolling in the aisles) but if it's a drama (like Cidade De Deus) then I think it's better to have subtitles.

I hate how every character in series on french TV have the same voice. :p I really don't understand how they can watch it, the jokes are so so so unfunny translated and the drama series are extra corny.

I just put on some Dead Kennedys with my speakers unknowingly turned waaaaay up, so I think my whole neighborhood just heard the intro to "Nazi Punks F[I]u[/I]ck Off."

Ah, but that's a matter of practice. 75% of the things I watch are subtitled, it has become an automatism, I don't even notice it anymore.
