That's what happens when folk rockers make techno rock albums or whatever that weird thing was in the 80's.

Illmatic 01-29-2005 07:53 PM

Actually, now that you mention it, I heard that he spent most of the 80's making horrible albums to get his label to drop him.

BludgeonySteve 01-29-2005 07:54 PM

The 90s were great, mind you. Ragged Glory and Harvest Moon are both amazing.

edit: almost forgot freedom!
Well good.

Greendale is a great Neil Young album. It's only from 2003 too. Neil has been more or less consistant for his whole life :)
Are you Passionate really sucked though....(2004) :upset:

BludgeonySteve 01-29-2005 07:56 PM

It was alright. Change your post to include my edit

Yea, that's what I saw on some biography about him. And one one of them was like electronicy.

BludgeonySteve 01-29-2005 07:56 PM

Okay fine. 70s and 90s were good. That's 20 years of pwnage...

I hated it but it had a song on it that was about a guy on 9\11 called his wife and said "Roll On" when he was on the plane that crashed in Penn. Which was Pretty cool.
Man, last week I bought Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" and I can't stop listening to it. Great guitar work by Mr. Gilmour. And to think they'e just regular blues licks, nothing fancy
New to Floyd ehh?

Illmatic 01-29-2005 08:08 PM

Look at his user title...he clames to be a PF fan, yet he doesn't have The Wall or Dark Side of the Moon.

Interesting.

Yes very....n00b!

Illmatic 01-29-2005 08:12 PM

Who was that "noob" directed to?

BludgeonySteve 01-29-2005 08:14 PM

It was directed at the guy who claims to be a floyd fan. I guess you could be a fan with Animals, WYWH, Meddle and PATGOD...

jpj 01-29-2005 08:15 PM

I like Pink Floyd.

Also the only way it is exceptable for a Floyd fan to not have DSOTM and The Wall is if they have everything else they ever did.

Illmatic 01-29-2005 08:15 PM

I doubt it, though. I don't know a single PF fan who doesn't own The Wall or Dark Side.

PATGOD is certainly up there the greatest ever list

Woodstock 01-29-2005 08:38 PM

What does Soulseek do?

StreetlightRock 01-29-2005 08:44 PM

'tis a program invented by the devil to seek out your soul and eat it 0.o

*cough*, no really, 'tis like Kazza... only not.

stupid dial up connection... cable on Wednesday.

You know, i never understood the facination with Animals. I mean, i heart the Floyd and all, but the music on animals is just really boring. i suppose the lyrics and all are good, but yea.

Woah... hey, i just noticed something, anyone got the Momentry Lapse of Reason CD? on the other side of the CD booklet, where it lists the songs, the one that says 'one slip' is actually spelt '0ne slip' with a zero.

DVG.

lunch998 01-29-2005 08:47 PM

Badmoon - Wake of Flood is interesting, some high points and some parts I don't like.

Magicbus - Vintage avatar. Nice.

I think Animals is musically more compelling than almost any of their other albums.
PATGOD is certainly up there the greatest ever list
I would rep for that but.....needs to spread.

Syd Barrett is my favorite songwritter. Not the best but he has that insane psychedellic style that I love.

Johnny B. Good 01-29-2005 09:18 PM

Earlier I listened to all of PATGOD straight through and thought to myself "there's no way to explain the greatness of this album."

I agree with DVG I like the lyrics but the music is boring. Rep for DVG :)

jpj 01-29-2005 09:21 PM

I can easily see how someone could think the music of Animals is boring, but to me the music is mind-blowing. Then again I think everything about PATGOD is mind-blowing also.

I listined to it yesterday *stoned* and it was so amazing.

*just took 1 bar*

lunch998 01-29-2005 09:22 PM

I don't understand how you can find the music boring. It's heavier than all their other albums, Gilmour is fantastic all the way through, and the song structure is very interesting. Even Mason is interesting on Animals.

BludgeonySteve 01-29-2005 09:22 PM

Pink Floyd isn't for people with ADD

/truth

I find Mason is best on PATGOD or Atom Heart Mother

How PATGOD rocks

lunch998 01-29-2005 09:34 PM
I find Mason is best on PATGOD or Atom Heart Mother
Yea I agree. But I think he was getting less interesting on drums for awhile, until Animals.
