Apocalyptic Raids 03-15-2006 02:30 AM

One of my friends was a fan, and when he mentioned how awesome Aces High was, so I downloaded it, then I borrowed Best Of The Beast off him and after a while I began to like them alot.

Powerslave was the first album I bought.

The first album i got was Brave New World.

I traded my new found glory cd for it

My friend's brother bought RiR and let me have a borrow of it, of course back then i was an ignorent fool and if it wasn't Pop Punk it wasn't good. But when i heard that opening riff in The Wicker Man i was changed:)
Since then i've been a huge Maiden fan and also a huge metal fan.

the_uber_penguin 03-15-2006 07:37 AM

I just found my £50 gig voucher.

That's my ticket to Iron Maiden paid for.

I face a dilemma...

Eat next month and not see Maiden or Not eat at all for a whole month and see Maiden...

Guess, I'm gonna get hella thin

Deth 03-15-2006 08:07 PM

You better.

Yahmi_05 03-15-2006 08:25 PM

DOD Is the best cd

Deth 03-15-2006 08:36 PM

You think so? I like it a lot but wouldn't put it in my top 5.

I think i would, montsegur + new frontier + wildest dreams + rainmaker + dance of death + journeyman + age of innosence + no more lies + pacshnedale + and face in the sand = :thumb:

That cd is brilliant with the exception of gates tommrow. Not my #1 album but most likely top 5 material

123 but eddie the great is still really great.

He's brilliant on just about everything apart from that, i was horrified when i heard it.
DOD Is the best cd
It's somewhere in the middle IMO.

Well, that's a best of though.

Of course that album is going to be great lol. My favorite Maiden would have to be Fear of the Dark, but the most powerful version i believe is the Rockn' In Rio version.

"A light, in the black, or just a fear...of the dark!"

gates of tomorrow is also the one song i don't like on that album.
Ash: not being at Uni yet ++
also, i just applied for a second job, so hopefully i'll still be able to go to gigs while i'm at uni :)

ollie_poole 03-16-2006 02:07 PM

I don't like 'Age of Innocence'. It's been said many, many times but it's true: it sounds like someone from the Daily Mail / Express wrote the lyrics.

i quite like that one, i prefer it to Face In The Sand. it's meant to be political, and seeing as i can get fairly worked up about politics etc, it appeals to me.

Sir Meehan 03-16-2006 10:01 PM

ok new member here so don't be to harsh. I'm sure you guys have been talking about it, but they do have a new album coming out this fall right? and also what are some good lesser known iron maiden songs.

ashman 03-16-2006 10:26 PM

I'm only at university via a technicality...

I haven't been to any lectures in over 3 weeks

That is correct Great Sir Meehan, they are writing ze album as we speak. Lesser known Maiden songs eh? Burning Ambition, Invasion, pretty much the whole X-Factor and VXI album and we can't forget the classics 'More Jam please' and 'Pass the tea Vicar'

Sir Meehan 03-16-2006 10:31 PM

ok cool thanks

PepsiMetal 03-16-2006 11:52 PM
and also what are some good lesser known iron maiden songs.
I didn't know either of these songs, so I'll say Moonchild, Dream of mirros, Paschendale, rainmaker, no more lies, and one of the best but least known I think is Mother Russia.

EdwardTheGreat 03-17-2006 06:15 AM

Stoo 03-17-2006 06:16 AM

-The Frank 03-17-2006 09:32 AM
