Did you know Muhammed is releasing official tab books for both Necro albums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He tabs out his songs on powertab as he writes them so theres no excuse for forgetting anything. I can't wait, I really wanna learn Epitaph the right way.

Yes! That's great news. :D

I'm Charming 04-12-2006 03:22 PM
I'm learning it now, it's pretty easy so far.

And most people that say Raining Blood is easy, well that's BS, if you heard them play it you'd lol. Most people just trem pick, as opposed to playing controlled 16ths to a consistant beat/click.
Raining Blood is easy.

lawl.

I've watched them play it on War At The Warfield DVD. FTR.

Yes I trem pick parts. It sounds good. Though I'm you could play it like Slayer or better.

MRDuCran 04-12-2006 03:51 PM

lol Raining Blood hits 200+, it's not that easy to keep up perfectly.

Especially since it's a low Eb note it sounds fast, try playing the high E string or play clean.

Plus, I just learnt Foul Body Autopsy up to the verse. I can play it at 180 so far. I could go faster, I just keep forgetting it as I'm playing.

I learnt that song up to the sweeps, and then I lost all hope in my ability to ever learn the whole thing. (I can do them at 80).

Well to be honest, I learn the first 3/4 bars a few months ago but never really practised them till today. But I actually learnt everything up to the verse as I said, seems like Silenius got further. I'll probably get that section up to 240bpm then learn the rest, that's if I don't get bored.

80bpm, is that 16th notes and 8th triplets??

I know it's at 240 and is transcribed as 8ths, but my metronome doesn't go up to 240 so I half everything and play in 16ths, so my goal tempo is 120. 180=90.
I'm just checking to see what method your using?

80=with your metronome 40, so VERY slow. I can do everything before it at 120 (240) though.

MRDuCran 04-12-2006 04:42 PM

Ah right. I doubt I'll finish it actually, just the section I'm working on will do for now.

I'm pretty sure if you put some time into it you could do the whole thing, from the recordings that you posted you seem to me to be a very good guitarist. :thumb:

MRDuCran 04-12-2006 04:56 PM

Thanks! Well I can sweep pick but I think Muhammed kinda takes the piss really, his playing is soo clean. Eh, I'll try it anyway...

One of the best, but not greatest.

Yeah, it's amazing how nice his tone is on his solos and how clean he is.

repcak 04-12-2006 05:40 PM

wth is muhammed? you don't mean the guitarist from Necrophagist, do you?

edit: oh... i didn't knew his name is muhammed :thumb: nevermind

MRDuCran 04-12-2006 06:14 PM

Don't forget about opinions Dylan, I used to think that song was the best when I first heard it too.

Quality post!

It's pretty crazy how Muhammed hardly practised after 3 years of playing and recorded all of Onset of Purification all by himself, all guitar parts, bass, mixing, editing etc etc and it still sounds a million times better than most things out now.

His sweeps are sooo clean and beautifully done. His sweeps & solos both give me multiple eargasms. :naughty:
I love the classical tone on his leads, sweeps and solos.

I should go see Necrophagist on 5/8 :thumb:
I wouldn't mosh at that show, I'd get right up front and watch Muhammed in action. That would a guitar lesson right there.

AA-12 04-12-2006 06:35 PM

Classical tone? wtfwtfwtfwtfwtf :p

I know tons of Necrophagist stuff. Very fun to play. Bass is equally fun, but maybe because they're the only band I really learn on bass.

You need to record some stuff.

Some Necrophagist and that Towards Dead End sweep

Yes, classical. That's what it reminds me of. Like the sweeps in Stabwound, for example.
It's the best I can compare the tone with.

I'm planning on making a video soon.

Do you mean just the sound of the melody and whatnot, or the guitar tone?

Both kinda. The melody & tone really.

EDIT: That's just what it reminds me of. That's all.

AA-12 04-12-2006 07:21 PM

Alright, sorry about being a total fag there, heh.

MRDuCran 04-12-2006 07:45 PM

I'm looking forward to this video.

HAIL TRUE METAL 04-12-2006 08:44 PM

MRDuCran 04-12-2006 08:46 PM

The song or the album??

Either way, the word kickass describes them both extremely well.

It's cool. I didn't explain what I meant the best, so you misunderstood it.

No harm.

This video should be good, what all will you play in it?

AA-12 04-12-2006 09:02 PM

Whatever you guys want me to really, haha.
