Help me, Ben. I'm going insane.
Having Registration issues. It refuses to accept my reg. code on the back of the CD case, because someone's already registered it apparently. So darn frustrating.
You signed the game up previously? And do you have an exsisting EA account?

Not a lot I can think of to sort a problem like that, its annoying when it happens though

Spectrum 04-01-2005 08:44 AM

IDK who registered it or when... but it went through all the steps to register it until the very last one. It even recognizes my username (SpectrumMXUK), but won't say that I've registered.

Anyway you would be able to get in on a Network game, or would you have to physically be here?

I think networking would be a no go. i've tried it with a friend who only lives 5 minutes away and it didnt work.

Is your copy an original bought from the shop, or taken from someone else? If someone else has registered it, then it seems like its a no go.

It seems good enough, the footswitch in the first deal will be hideously useful if recording guitar parts by yourself, it's mostly used for punching in and out so you don't have to press record at the section you want to replace, then play guitar than press stop before writing over the stuff you want to keep.

On a general financial issue, I'd reccomend the ebay auction because getting the software then a footswitch and an audio interface will probably come up cheaper overall.

Moaner can probably give you better advice on audio interfaces than me, I tend to speciailise in mics and desks.

On a humerous topic, a girl told me she would soundproof her room with eggboxes

Thanks for that. Just needed some confirmation, I still feel lost with most of the equipemtn and software.

It seems to me to be the original, bought from the shop. I guess someone else musta registered.

Maybe they registered on the other computer! Dammit, I bet that's what happened. Do you know if you can access these things somehow, or transfer it over to another computer, because the ohter one is painfully slow.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-01-2005 08:54 AM

No clue im afraid. Try asking in the Video Game forums though, the wealth of knowledge there never ceases to amaze me

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:01 AM

Good point.

I hope you explained to him how expensive and pretty it is.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-01-2005 09:08 AM

It really sucks though as he works up at school, and they were refitting one of their sound proof recording rooms. The amount of worthy stuff that got thrown out.....

Accentopus 04-01-2005 09:10 AM

Bye

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:15 AM

DAMMIT!

My dad already registered on the other, sucky computer.

Is there any way to un-register?

EDIT: ChrisTabber has a scary Av

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:27 AM

Hey, does anyone know...

If you uninstall a game from a computer, does it remove its registration?

Because, as it would turn out, the probelm is that it's already installed on the other computer. And I can't log in there, because I don't know my dad's password. GAHH!

Adam Jones is GOD 04-01-2005 09:30 AM

Im figuring it should work. I had the problem with Yuri's Revenge online. I uninstalled an old one, gave that to my friend and installe da new copy. Both worked fine online afterwards.

Hopefully all EA games will do the same. No matter how evil EA is

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:36 AM

"Challenge Everything".

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:37 AM

Anyway, I was just playing "Street Spirit (Fade Out)", or at least an approximation of it, on the piano to blow off some steam. It's a very pretty song.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-01-2005 09:38 AM
"Challenge Everything".
I think they use that because its Latin for "Buy out smaller amazing game companies, then drain off their talent to their own profit"

Then its also translated to "Create inferior crappy sports games"

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:43 AM

^^I enjoy your company so much.

I'm doing it. I'm gonna uninstall it off the old computer. I tried calling Dad at work, but he wasn't there. So I'm gonna do it.

Do you know if I can not delete the save files?

Adam Jones is GOD 04-01-2005 09:46 AM

Go into the game folder and transfer them out. Put them on a disk, then place them back once its uninstalled. I've not tried uninstaling it yet, but it should give you the option to keep saved games on the hard drive

Adam Jones is GOD 04-01-2005 09:47 AM

Besides, i've played through it so many times now, I dont think saved files even matter anymore

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:49 AM

"The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth has been successfully uninstalled."

Oh shi...

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:50 AM

I didn't mean to! It just kinda happened.

Let's hope it worked.

Spectrum 04-01-2005 09:53 AM

He could do better than that.
