I tried getting Arcade Fire tickets today but all 5 shows sold out pretty much instantly. :(

Can - Future Days
Bob Dylan - The Bootleg Series, Vol. 4: The "Royal Albert Hall" Concert

mr_jackalope 01-05-2007 08:02 PM

"Wake Up" is like the worst song ever, but the rest of the album is totally deec.

Eliminator 01-05-2007 08:02 PM

lol

bleep_bloop 01-05-2007 08:08 PM

ive been digging off minor and i love you but i've chosen darkness

asymm 01-05-2007 08:44 PM

The Bronx - The Bronx II
MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
then I plan on listening to Bee Thousand and reading the corresponding 33 1/3 book I bought on it.

Boilermaker 01-05-2007 09:09 PM

What's the book called?

Eliminator 01-05-2007 09:12 PM

Joanna Newsom - Ys

Still awesome.

J Dilla - Donuts.

Great stuff, even though I listened to it out of order. I like the sampling of the Beastie Boys in one of the songs.

mr_jackalope 01-05-2007 09:45 PM

Boredoms - Super ae

The tribal phase of these guys is basically the best tribal rhythm based music ever made.

ATM 01-05-2007 10:06 PM

Kno (of Cunninlynguists) -The White Album
Miaou - Painted
Maserati - Inventions For the New Season (highly reccomended)
Manu Chao - Clandestino

asymm 01-05-2007 10:45 PM
What's the book called?
Bee Thousand ... it's part of the Continuum book series, 33 1/3. I have a handful already, they're wonderful.

I loving hearing the line, "You motherfuckers, I want your bloooooood!" It's been soundtracking my day.

br3ad_man 01-05-2007 10:59 PM

That song rules.

asymm 01-05-2007 11:02 PM

I played it back to back about 4 times in the car today, couldn't get enough.

Boilermaker 01-05-2007 11:21 PM

Well, they are Guided By Voices.

Once you start, you just can't stop.

asymm 01-05-2007 11:26 PM

While that is true, we're talking about a song by the Bronx. The Bronx - "History's Stranglers"

br3ad_man 01-06-2007 06:11 AM
I played it back to back about 4 times in the car today, couldn't get enough.
When I had just gotten my license and was annoyed about going to school, "Shitty Future" was probably my most played car song.

"Wake Up" is one of the best songs on the album, but those other three suck. The first song and "Rebellion" arethe best.

ATM 01-06-2007 06:14 AM

Sam Cooke - Portrait Of a Legend

Electrocution 01-06-2007 07:40 AM

most played car song: Yo La Tengo - Moby Octopad

digging DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist - Brainfreeze Breaks

NineBitFable 01-06-2007 01:21 PM

Q and not U-Different Damage

Other than 'So Many Animal Calls' its a fantastic album. 'Soft Pyramids' has one of the most distinct intros I've ever heard.

br3ad_man 01-06-2007 02:26 PM
most played car song: Yo La Tengo - Moby Octopad
That's probably my second most played.

AlienEater 01-06-2007 03:51 PM

Yo La Tengo - May I Sing With Me
way to pick like, the four worst songs

first song gives me chills always, and the rest of it besides the four aforementioned are always great.
Yeah seriously. All of them, especially Rebellion, Neighborhood 1 and 2, and Haiti, rock.

The Velvet Underground - Loaded
Sebadoh - III
Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle

Gosh, you sicken me.

Sebadoh - III, they're playing in Boston soon, but alas, it is 18+ :(
I haven't been to a good concert in forever too.

I also like the Sean Lennon album. I'm such a twee nerd :(

bleep_bloop 01-06-2007 10:21 PM

you can usually get into 18+ shows pretty easily.

Boilermaker 01-06-2007 10:22 PM

Not in Boston, when I live in New Hampshire and have strict parents.

bleep_bloop 01-06-2007 10:23 PM

oh.

Boilermaker 01-06-2007 10:26 PM

Oh well...

Now listening to Slint - Spiderland

Zmev 01-06-2007 10:49 PM

Sebadoh are playing here in March with Ted Leo and Midlake.

If I can't go everyone will die.

br3ad_man 01-06-2007 10:55 PM

Sebadoh + Ted Leo + Midlake = a pretty bitchin' show
