I copied that Hallowed Be Thy Beer prayer. Good stuff. :chug:

ashman 03-11-2006 09:53 PM
i want a t-shirt with the Hallowed be thy Beer prayer on it, i can't really remember how it goes but it's great.

/googles it.

here we are:

The Beer Prayer

Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
Thy will be drunk, (I will be drunk),
At home as it is in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
And forgive us our spillage,
As we forgive those who spill against
us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer, the bitter, and
the lager.
Forever and ever,
Barmen
Haha...it's all fun, until you work behind a bar...

I'm glad he declined, if he had joined Maiden then there would have been no Blaze era which would mean no X-factor of Virtual XI, also there would have been no return of Bruce because most likely people would have warmed to LaBrie more me thinks, so that means no BNW or DoD.

Exactly, but labrie would probably stay becasue hese most likely more conisistant the blaze live. Which means no BNW or Dod. People may have not warmed up to labrie, but he would most likely stay becasue of his live consistenscy.

Anyway it would have sucked for maiden if he joined.
So im glad he didnt :thumb:

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2006 08:07 AM

What's more interesting is that he declined! He must have had very high hopes for DT at the time if he declined a spot in Iron Maiden.

Josh 03-12-2006 08:58 AM

although he sounds good on the live NOTB cover, i don't think LaBrie would have suited maiden's album sound.

temporary 03-12-2006 11:40 AM

As I said in the DT thread, I'm glad he LaBrie declined. Blaze was a great choice, and LaBrie would've left when Bruce came back. Plus, DT would've had to find a new vocalist who probly wouldn't have been as good.

Np: To Tame a Land

Lord Abortion 03-12-2006 12:01 PM

Yeah, and plus, DT would be nowhere near as good without him, no tear-inducing vocals on the spirit carries on, for one.

Good pickup combination, looks good

BUT, I've no experience with Cort. My suggestion is to try it out, if you like it more then other guitars, get it. A 1000 Dollars is a lot of money.

As for LaBrie in Maiden... I'd be 'kin pissed off if he was in there, he voice wouldn't have suited Maiden. He's voice is too thin and weak, which none of the Maiden singers have. Pauls voice was done and dirty, Bruce's strong and can make his scream sound manly and Blazes voice is thick and strong if you know what I mean.

If he was the singer, I'd download the album and give it try, but I doubt I'd like it....and in conclusion...I don't like Dream Theater!

So which Maiden song has the most outstanding fills/ditties by Steve? Not necessarily which songs are the hardest to play on bass (like POTO or Rime) because songs like those are just fast and complex. But which ones have the most little fills and extra things in them?

I'm thinkin' Sanctuary or 2 Minutes to Midnight.

SimonCore 03-13-2006 10:32 AM

Bah i just found out i'm not going to maiden unless the tickets don't seel out for another month:upset: I haven't got anywhere near enough money:angry:

I'd say Flight of Icarus or Transylvania.

Maybe Drifter.

gojira_from_mars_tosirius 03-13-2006 01:28 PM

iron maiden are so ridiculously great. "phantom of the opera" is their best song in my opinion.

Yeah but didn't they stop playing it because Bruce couldn't reach the highs back before he left Maiden?
