There's only one paragraph. It's from 7/11/05, so maybe it's another update I can't see, perhaps? Entitled "Lateralus vinyl."

Happy birthday to The Tool Page, t.d.n - today marks an astounding TEN YEARS since the site began reporting Tool news! Take a moment and ask yourself where you were ten years ago. This site was right here way back then, and since then has been through multiple server moves, the addition of many sections, three major Tool releases, several tours, nine April Fools' Day pranks (two of which hit MTV News), and one platinum album award from the band. Thanks to all of you for keeping this place going, and thanks especially to Dan Green and Chris Brightwell for keeping it vibrant in recent years as I've been getting too old to deal with it all. And yes, thanks to Maynard, for always being there through the hard times. (Or something.) With all of your continued support, t.d.n will remain a good-times place for Tool people and cool people in the future. § OK, so things may be really slow in the world of Tool, but sure enough, recording of the new album is slowly progressing. Adam has posted some pics from the recording process to his MySpace page. Thanks to Italo in Chile for being first to point this out. § Next week will see the release of the vinyl edition of "Lateralus." If you're really curious, you can see a copy of the sales sheet (PDF, 544 k). Some people have already gotten theirs, and have noticed something strange. Michael Bolkin writes that he just received his copy of the "Lateralus" vinyl (through toolarmy.com), and found that "the track order has been changed. The last song on Disc 1 Side 2 is Disposition (as song #8), which now follows Parabola. Disc 2 then starts with Ticks and Leeches as song #9, Lateralus as song #10, then followed by Reflection and Triad." As far as we can tell so far, the re-arrangement seems likely due to technical limitations; no definitive word is yet available on this. Think of it as listening to the CD on shuffle. § And last, Mario in Croatia writes that "Tool's booking agents have contacted all the biggest european promotors / festivals, and a tour is being booked for summer 2006." If this is the case, coupled with ongoing recording sessions, it means we should expect a Tool record before then. (Amusingly, the first news post ever to The Tool Page intoned presciently "maybe in the spring.") § --
Yup. |
Then your computer muist be really messed up.
But here is the part of the article you want to read: And last, Mario in Croatia writes that "Tool's booking agents have contacted all the biggest european promotors / festivals, and a tour is being booked for summer 2006." Well, Theyd probably tour the US first right?
|
Interesting... I don't know why it wasn't there for me. Thanks for the copy/paste.
|
Dont worry dude.
Am I the only one that has wet dreams about a 5.1 mix of ANY tool albums?
I tink Tool needs to take a nod from NIN and get their asses in the studio to approve a 5.1 mix, it seams odd to me that this hasn't happend yet.
I would be very suprised if the new album doesn't get a 5.1 mix.. I can't imagine them being so far behind to not have noticed how awesome 5.1 mixes can be |

Thia may sound dumb, but what exactly is 5.1? |
Surround sound!

- Especially considering Trent and Maynard are such good friends, and one of Trent's big projects is to release a 5.1 mix of all his previous albums. You'd think Maynard would get the hint. |
Hehehe.. What format does Trent release them in? Dvd, Dvd-a or SACD?

DVD-A and SCAD. |
Best case scenario for touring: I've seen this done before by a few bands, but Tool could be doing two sweeps of the US and UK. The article mentions Tool's agents booking festivals, right? Well, maybe they're getting on the ticket of Download, or some other large festival like that after their US tour, their Europe tour, and another US sweep?
Best case scenario, but it could happen, y'know. :) I'd be down to see Tool twice. |
Heh, Jake, we might end up seeing Tool at the same venue, depending on the selected locations.
Edit: Haha, Jake doesn't seem to like that idea too much :p |
Where do you live?
|
Where do you live?
:x Never mind, I read your introduction thread wrong, I thought you lived in Washington DC. Oops :/ |
Haha, that reminds me of my plane ride back from New Orleans heading home. I was sitting behind these people with a severe southern accent(subtle hint at lower than average IQ, kk?) and about half way through the trip, the mom of the southern group asked the stewardess "Are you going to the capital or the state Washington?"
HOW THE HELL COULD YOU NOT KNOW WHERE YOU WERE GOING ON VACATION!?!?!?!?!?!??!??!?! The stewardess just kind of blankly stared at her for a few seconds, trying to rationalize another reason for this, and then she just kind of walked away. :p |
As long as they do a Canadain tour at least twice... I want Tool to be active for at least 2-3 years.
|
Europe tour?? Comon, show some love for the land of free, Tool.
|
I think that Tool should do Gigantour next year. That would be friggin' sweet and I think they would mix with the other bands pretty well too. I mean Dream Theater rocked harder than anyone and Tool could do just as well.
|
Tool + Isis + Opeth would be the ideal tour. I would kill 100 people to get tickets to that show.
|
I agree; Tool and some great ambient band. They've toured with Massive Attack before, I believe... THat'd be another great band too.
But we have to wait a WHOLE YEAR to see them?! |
Tool+Meshuggah+Opeth+Porcupine Tree+tour= KABLOW pwnage.
|
Tool+Meshuggah+Opeth+Porcupine Tree+tour= KABLOW pwnage.
Oh... My... God... That would be incredible. |
Hmm
I'm rethinking my previous bands, I'd change it to Tool, Isis, Opeth, NiN. That would be a amazing show. |
Keep it a prog show. Tool, Opeth, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree. :D
|
It's a little more diverse a sound compared to most of the lists here but, Tool, Opeth, Meshuggah, and Symphony X. From headliner to opener.
|
^ Good tour... As long as Tool & Opeth are together, I'm very much satisfied. Plus Meshuggah is another one of my favorites.
I really need to hear some Symphony X... I keep hearing good things about them. |
Go to Jakes new thread for a huge song of theirs. I'd upload another one but I'm off to bed.
|
I don't think Dream Theater and Tool would mesh well. DT is all about showing off skill and Tool is more predicated on creating an atmosphere.
