and Bathory, Emperor, Ildjarn, Dissection, Immortal, Gorgoroth, Sacramentum... and others I'm sure
I'll give you Bathory, but the rest of those are pretty mediocre/bad.

illmitch 08-26-2009 01:00 AM

Ildjarn rules, and the first Emperor album is good

Nepenthe 08-26-2009 01:29 AM

immortal and dissection are both badass

illmitch 08-26-2009 01:31 AM

never been a fan of either of those

Neur0heiler 08-26-2009 01:33 AM

early Immortal rules

illmitch 08-26-2009 01:34 AM

eh its better than their later stuff but i wouldnt say it rules

Nepenthe 08-26-2009 01:35 AM

i like late immortal better tbh. sons of northern darkness kicks ***. i can listen to in my kingdom cold and antarctica daily.

i realize how unpopular that thinking may be in this thread

FatalEnergy 08-26-2009 01:35 AM

First two albums are good. The rest is ****.

Neur0heiler 08-26-2009 01:37 AM

BillEco 08-26-2009 07:53 AM

I dont like Immortal as far as I've heard (Pure Holocaust, At the Heart of Winter, Sons) even though I dont mind some songs.

But Dissection... what don't you like people? I'm still wondering how he came up with the chorus riff in Where Dead Angels Lie... I still think Jon as a whole had a lot more talent and skill than other BM musicians

rasputin 08-26-2009 07:57 AM

both immortal and dissection are pretty average

masscows 08-26-2009 09:11 AM
I'll give you Bathory, but the rest of those are pretty mediocre/bad.
I knew you'd disagree with most of them but I thought you liked Ildjarn.

first 3 Gorgoroth, first 2 Immortal, first 2 Dissection and Emperor up to ITNE are awesome imo. Have you heard Emperor - Wrath of the Tyrant, Austin?
But Dissection... what don't you like people? I'm still wondering how he came up with the chorus riff in Where Dead Angels Lie... I still think Jon as a whole had a lot more talent and skill than other BM musicians
he's pretty clearly well-learned in Norse folk guitar playing, that definitely has alot to do with it.

Morumbar 08-26-2009 09:39 AM

I only have Dissection's Storm Of The Light's Bane, but I really ****ing love it.

Txus 08-26-2009 09:54 AM

I've been listening to Elysian Blaze today.

Can't wait for Blood Geometry to come out.

gregulus 08-26-2009 10:16 AM

Dissection's first to albums rule.

gregulus 08-26-2009 10:17 AM

So does Sacramentum's first LP.

Txus 08-26-2009 12:21 PM

Just bought NM's Weltanschauung

lol wut

Niflheim II 08-26-2009 02:58 PM

Uh Dissection - Storm... is ****ing killer album and Gorgoroth released probably the best black metal album from the Norweigan scene, dunno what you retards are on about.

Stevie 08-26-2009 03:42 PM

^ pentagram or antichrist

illmitch 08-26-2009 03:46 PM

ildjarn is elite as **** idk what you guys are on

Stormrider 08-26-2009 06:48 PM

I really like Emperor up to the first full length. Listened to one of the later albums and it was okay. Not really my thing.

However, been meaning to give Anthems another chance, lately.

Also, Immortal have a new album coming out in about a month.
^ pentagram or antichrist
He's probably referring to Under the Sign of Hell.

And yes, Storm of the Lights Bane is really excellent. Grows on you like vines the more you listen to it.

masscows 08-26-2009 07:12 PM
lol wut
listen to the acoustic interludes on the somberalin. alot of dissection's melodies have kind of a folky vibe to them too.

illmitch 08-26-2009 08:06 PM

its more embarrassing to make the same post 6 times in a row

RetiredAt21 08-26-2009 08:19 PM

I'm so ****ed up and listening to Brenoritvrezorkre. **** rules.

Jaundice 08-27-2009 12:04 AM

I'd have to be real ****ed up to like Brenorevzektitor

Morumbar 08-27-2009 01:26 AM
Gorgoroth released probably the best black metal album from the Norweigan scene, dunno what you retards are on about.
The best black metal album from Norway is "Below the Lights" by Enslaved... But some people would argue that it's not black metal. Anyway, this album is my favourite BM release.

Tsjuder is pretty cool too. Pretty brutal but with an old-school feeling just like Bathory ("Mouth of Madness" \m/ ).

BillEco 08-27-2009 05:30 AM

The best Black Metal album from Norway is Bergtatt (even if you dont call it real Black Metal with all the folk influence in there). Even the stepping on chips in the forest stuff is good.

Someone make a poll or something with the best Norwegian BM album

AA-12 08-27-2009 05:41 AM

abitns is the best

RetiredAt21 08-27-2009 05:45 AM

I think you mean Under a Funeral Moon.

rasputin 08-27-2009 08:45 AM

i still need to give under a funeral moon a decent listen, but i prefer abitns over transilvanian
