Outkast - The Love Below
Coheed and Cambria - The Second Stage Turbine Blade
Third Eye Blind - s/t
Incubus - Make Yourself

Today, I couldn't help but reminisce.
Surfer Rosa lacked almost all the memorable melodies of Doolittle
"River Euphrates" has the best melody of any song, ever.

Muse - Blackholes and Revelations
Cursive - Happy Hollow

I think these are the two most enjoyable album of the year so far. This Muse album especially, I don't normally like them, but it's really great.

ATM 06-26-2006 07:26 AM

Yea, that Muse album is pretty fun.

Bartender 06-26-2006 08:47 AM

My first listen to Boris - Pink is promising. It plays pretty much like a longer Akuma No Uta, but that's more or less exactly what I was hoping it would be, so tis fine with me.

Kyle 06-26-2006 08:56 AM

^^ That's gonna be next on my wishlist I think.

Zebra 06-26-2006 09:02 AM

Beck - Mellow Gold

It's close between this and Odelay! but I think this is Beck at his best.

asymm 06-26-2006 11:44 AM

Ride - Going Blank Again
It's a very nice album. Similarly elegant as Nowhere.

dei 06-26-2006 01:18 PM

It's been a while since I've put this disc in for a spin.

Beep Beep - Business Casual

italic zero 06-26-2006 01:19 PM

Leonard Cohen, specifically "The Partisan", "Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye", "Famous Blue Raincoat", "Chelsea Hotel No. 2", and "Who By Fire".

Jacaranda 06-26-2006 02:24 PM

The new Sonic Youth I'm not sure what I think of it yet. I love the first song on the album though.
The new Sonic Youth I'm not sure what I think of it yet. I love the first song on the album though.
yeah, "Reena", "Incinerate", "Pink Steam", "Rats"(most awesome bassline in an SY song yet), and "The Neutral" are all great IMO.

but unfortunately there are a lot of songs that i skip over a lot. it seems like i'm going between those same 5 songs over and over again and skipping everything else. the other ones aren't bad, i just can't get into them yet. this CD isn't as consistent as "Sonic Nurse" but it's still great.

Comets on Fire - Blue Cathedral
Art Bears - The World As It Is Today

Comets on Fire are possibly the coolest band ever. The Art Bears were kinda disappointing though. I'll give it another go, but the singer is irritating.
R.E.M. - Fables of the Reconstruction

A lot better than it gets credit for.
Its probably their third or fourth best release. Buck plays some great lines; the writing is so wonderfully dark.

Little Man being Erased 06-26-2006 04:08 PM

Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison

I agree.

Do you like Lush?

ATM 06-26-2006 07:31 PM

Elbow - Leaders Of the Free World

I had forgotten how much I love this album.

Robert Crumb 06-26-2006 07:44 PM

Jorge Ben - Africa Brasil
The Congos - Heart of the Congos
Nomeansno - Wrong

In that order, the day's diggage so far. Played "Tired of Waiting" on my radio show this afternoon, followed by Mission of Burma. So \m/, which is kinda of uncharacteristic of me. But awesome music. Heart of the Congos I haven't really been able to get into since I bought it, but I was kinda feeling it later in the afternoon, driving around in the heat. And Africa Brasil is just many kinds of awesome. Woowoo.

ATM 06-26-2006 07:45 PM

Heart Of the Congos is an absolute classic.

Robert Crumb 06-26-2006 07:52 PM

Always wanted to check it out, but it always seemed hella expensive for an album I didn't know much about. Finally found it used for $10.

Zappa 06-26-2006 07:54 PM

Yeah, Heart of the Congos and Wrong are top shelf releases. I'd love to hear NoMeansNo on radio!

All I have is Split, but it's great as well. As small as shoegaze was, it produced some very satisfying music.

Information - Biomekano
Isan - Plans Drawn in Pencil
Sonic Youth - A Thousand Leaves

Zappa 06-26-2006 08:00 PM

You get Eternal Rhythm by Don Cherry yet, asymm?

ATM 06-26-2006 08:01 PM

Ooh just found the Mo Mega B sides :)

asymm 06-26-2006 08:02 PM

Unfortunately, not yet. My downloading sources have failed me and I'm trying to save money during the summer. Could you hook me up on AIM?
