idk, there is really good deathcore

masscows 04-11-2008 01:42 PM

there's some that's passable, but it's so saturated with complete garbage

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-11-2008 01:44 PM

yeah who cares theres still good bands

like

holy ****, most death metal in general sucks!

Solitary 04-11-2008 01:46 PM

Morbid Angel's going on a short tour in June...should be good to see Dave Vincent performing. Maybe there'll be some new material (gasp). Now there's something to skeptically watch for.

I'd much rather listen to an average generic death metal band than an average generic deathcore band. There are probably like, 2 or 3 deathcore bands that are worth the price of their gear.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-11-2008 01:47 PM

nah

Tyler 04-11-2008 01:56 PM

hey both of you nobody cares

I haven't been keeping track, I just feel like I've seen it

Tyler 04-11-2008 02:01 PM

staying out of the deathcore thread would probably change how often you see it

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-11-2008 02:04 PM

hey guys

yew ever heard this band called animosity?

rattlehead42147 04-11-2008 02:21 PM

[QUOTE=Solitary;16218347]Nothing has been made that matches the intensity, speed and madness of Legion. It was a one off and probably the best death metal album out.[/QUOTE]
you've gotta learn to use quote tags :p
I've never been that much into Deicide, I think they're good for the occasional listen but that's about it. They did have the speed thing down, but their approach is a little too 1-D for me I guess compared to a lot of bands in the genre.

pooh!

I know what you mean about Deicide and I'd agree with the later material. Since Once Upon the Cross they have been that way but if you consider just s/t and Legion those two don't feel one dimensional.

[size=666]size=666[/size]

Aakon_Keetreh 04-11-2008 05:36 PM

666 is bigger than that.

negrodamus 04-11-2008 06:38 PM

i have exactly 666 songs on my ipod atm.

get on my dick.

Deth 04-11-2008 06:41 PM

There was a point about a year and a half ago where Death to Jesus by Deicide was the 666th song on my iPod. It ruled for the week or so before I updated it.

rattlehead42147 04-11-2008 06:55 PM

I have no idea why this happened but I watched the Out of Body video from Pestilence and cannot stop listening to Consuming Impulse now.

Even the s/t and Legion are pretty standard imo. There is no variation on them, just extremely fast and short songs. What makes those two albums better than their later stuff for me is that for some reason they were actually able to pull it off. I lost quite a bit of respect for the s/t after hearing Legion just because it is so much better, but both albums are great.

I listen to Charred Remains on my way to work a lot and I can't help but attempt Chris' vocals.
