How the hell could they ruin the songs when they wrote them...I mean granted, new Sodom is kinda disappointing, but come on. It could be badass.

Keaira 09-14-2007 09:37 AM

Metallica - Frantic \m/

Apocalyptic Raids 09-14-2007 09:38 AM

but In The Sign of Evil was great because it was sloppy, raw old-school black metal.

I shudder at the thought of that re-recording.

I know this, but I am a fan of good production. Even if it takes away from the "**** you"-ness of it. :-/

Actually it's quite good and doesn't sound far from the original.

It's way sloppy and it was recorded with analog equipment not digital

SylentEcho 09-14-2007 02:46 PM

"In The Sign of Evil" was totally wild and the production was ok for that time. Check out my review on it.

Edi Gibson 09-14-2007 09:28 PM

megadeth

Edi Gibson 09-14-2007 09:36 PM
what about 'em?
They are thrash.

Grumma 09-14-2007 09:47 PM

Washington Is Next is a good song

Angmar 09-14-2007 09:48 PM

Yeah, the best on the new album.

Edi Gibson 09-14-2007 09:49 PM
I haven't heard much of U.A. except Le Monde, which I thought was NOT as good as the first time around, and Sleepwalker, which didn't impress me much... what'd you think?
That's the new album, dave is like 50 and he got a all new band. He wrote his best stuff on his first 5 albums.

Edi Gibson 09-14-2007 09:53 PM
y'know what weird? I really don't like CTE that much, but I love Youthanasia. CTE was like 'deth stripped down to it's bare bones. Most of the the tracks sounded like demo's of what could've been a better album. To my ears anyway...
what is cte? he only made good music from 80s-92 or whenever countdown to extintion came out

Edi Gibson 09-14-2007 09:58 PM
cte is an abbreviation for Countdown To Extinction. Duh.
lol

yeah that album was decent but killing is my buisness, that other one, peace sells, rust in peace were the best

SylentEcho 09-15-2007 12:34 AM

U.A IMO is better than anything Megadeth has made in the 90's.

it is badass, they do justice to the old album well. :) you can listen to song samples from this new album on the SPV site.

Grumma 09-15-2007 12:49 AM

I actually really don't like early Megadeth. (possibly cos Dave sounds retarded).

But United Abominations is a good listen :)

yeah, I always imagined a mouse singing whenever I used to hear the old stuff.

Stoic 09-15-2007 06:48 AM

I used to love Peace sells. Now I don't know, I haven't heard it for ages (5 years to be precise) :\

Stormrider 09-15-2007 07:52 AM

I got Vio-Lence's Eternal Nightmare. Haven't given it a listen yet.

What does everyone here think of the album?

Stoic 09-15-2007 07:56 AM

Young Jammie, you've grown up so much since the last time I saw you! :D What does your user title mean? Do you still listen to Iced Earth (jeez!)?

This is album is usually considered a thrash classic but I could name a dozen of albums I find more enjoyable.

Of course I still listen to Iced Earth. I bought their new album the day it was released back on Tuesday. Been listening to it constantly since :)

and my user title is just the title of an Akitsa release. Should probably change it, heh.

Great album.

south_of_heaven 11 09-15-2007 10:03 AM

Don't really like it tbh

FatalEnergy 09-15-2007 01:35 PM

Eternal Nightmare is great, but I actually like Oppressing the Masses a bit more.

masscows 09-15-2007 04:00 PM

k, i'm a thrash noob and only have metallica's good stuff, some slayer and some nevermore.

What's Exodus' best album?

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 04:02 PM

Bonded by Blood or Fabulous Disaster would be my choices.

You should check out some Demolition Hammer though. Epidemic of Violence is one of my favorite thrash albums ever.

masscows 09-15-2007 04:02 PM

alright thanks, I'm seeing them this winter and I want to know at least some of the songs on the setlist!

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 04:05 PM

I doubt they'll be playing much of their old material for some reason, though I haven't experienced the joy of seeing Exodus live yet :(

FatalEnergy 09-15-2007 04:44 PM

When I saw them last time, they played the majority of Bonded live

south_of_heaven 11 09-15-2007 08:28 PM

Slayerrrrr
