Tubular Bells is awesome...but I never really enjoyed anything else I heard by him.

But a gigantic instrument of large bells is really extra awesome. Dude is such a badass. O Fortuna also sounds great.

AA-12 09-27-2009 04:56 PM

oldfield is really boring

Nepenthe 09-27-2009 04:57 PM

late 80s and 90s oldfield can be boring. he became a pretty generic new age artist.

Poet 09-27-2009 04:58 PM

Holy crap batman, just watched O Fortuna and it was badass

Permanent Solution 09-27-2009 05:00 PM

Tubular Bells is really the only reason to listen to Oldfield. But it's reason enough.
Holy crap batman, just watched O Fortuna and it was badass
Carol of the Bells is (of course) also amazing.

So I have like 25% off one item at barnes and noble, and to really get some mileage out of it I'm going to go for something nice.

Currently, I'm thinking maybe this:
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The-Lord-of-the-Rings/J-R-R-Tolkien/e/9780618517657/?itm=16&usri=t
Anyone have any other suggestions?
