just tune the batter as high as it can go thats wut i do and it sounds good
No, and it won't sound good using that method. I tune the batter head basically for feel, and then try to have the snare side slightly lower or higher, depending on the drum and the sound I'm going for.

Static 01-26-2008 04:33 PM

I find I got the best results with a medium tuned resonant head, with a slightly lower tuned batter head. Basically, have the bottom head slightly higher then flapping out, plus maybe half a turn, then the resonant head, maybe a quarter turn higher then flapping out. If it still sounds flappy, then tune the resonant head up slightly. You shouldn't get much bonginess this way.

Berk 01-26-2008 04:34 PM

no no no as tight as it can go thats what i do n it sounds good

Static 01-26-2008 04:51 PM
Bonnaroo schedule has been leaked.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonnaroo#2008

Looks pretty bad to me. Dragonforce? The Killers? The Eagles? Come on....

P-funk, Avett Brothers, Cake, and a couple others would be the only reason I would wanna go.
umm most of the "headliners" suck but there's some great bands on there. Sonic Youth, My Morning Jacket, DJ Shadow, Deltron 3030, Chuck Berry...probably not worth the money but it's definitely got some awesome ****

fishbulb 01-26-2008 05:02 PM

Gonna give tuning another shot, hopefully it will go well.

Yea, but for the ticket price you could probably see all of those bands by themselves cheaper.

Did you happen to catch Ween? I'm seeing them Tuesday.

Panopticon 01-26-2008 05:09 PM

first jam with my rhcp cover band soon. Guitarist and bassist were supposed to be here 10 minutes ago actually...

maniac0796 01-26-2008 05:11 PM

Wow, I'm going through the last page in this thread, I'm glad I hardly come here anymore, and instead spend time at PDF.

I finally finished building my bike, and took it for a ride for all those that are/were interested:

no I didn't get to see them. I haven't even been to a show since June :( I'm hoping there'll be a really good influx of shows in DC in the spring

SgtPrimus 01-26-2008 05:19 PM

I have a bunch of shows coming up. Ween, Meat Puppets, Avett Brothers, and Les Claypool. It'll be my 5th time seeing Claypool, so I might skip that.

Time 01-26-2008 05:21 PM

Meat Puppets would be kickass live

SgtPrimus 01-26-2008 05:25 PM

It is too bad they are only opening for Built to Spill. I have never heard them, I just wish that Meat Puppets were the main act.

Time 01-26-2008 05:25 PM

Built to Spill kicks *** too

I bought Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud, and Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert.

I still haven't finished this fucking biography, though.

Berk 01-26-2008 06:28 PM

oliv_da_skinmasher 01-26-2008 06:51 PM

You kno what?

Janeway 01-26-2008 06:55 PM

I'm not. I signed off and read a little, then got back online to inquire about back pain.
