What's a good Masta Ace album to try?
He's changed a lot since his Juice Crew days. Slaughta House is good for his older/harder stuff and I personally like Long Hot Summer for his "the game is ruined" personality. |
masta ace don't play when it comes to his base

Oh he was in the Juice Crew? Who else was? |
Big Daddy Kane, MC Shan, Kool G Rap, Biz Markie, Masta Ace, T.J. Swan, Craig G, and Roxanne Shanté.
|
So I watched Green Street Hooligans for the second time the other day, and now I need some good British/ English hip hop. Any reccomendations?

aim and foreign beggars (for the love of god download mind out)

Plan B is pretty good. |
am listening to Hip-Hop Is Dead atm. Not too bad, but it feels like it could have been so much better. :(
I'd give it about a 3/5, it would be 3.5 if it were shorter. |
Hip-Hop Is Dead blows. I gave it a 2/5 and kind of feel that is generous.
Kool G Rap & DJ Polo's Live and Let Die is too good. |
The beats blow, most of the guest appearances do nothing, and his lyrics are as stale as ever. The album sucks.
|
i agree, nas hip hop is dead sucks, the lyrics are unoriginal and the beats are boring
|
I haven't heard Hip Hop Is Dead yet but I read that there are a bunch of random no name producers on it.
|

Not really. |
I've never heard of them.
|
if someone would be so kind to maybe send HBMS's White People me then they can begin preparing for fellatio
or rep, same thing edit: nvm, i think i found a decent torrent |
Now that 2006 is pretty much over, what's the album of the year? I am going with Bronze Nazareth's Great Migration. His beats are insane on it and his rapping is good enough to make RZA happy.
|
Worst rap song of the year : Chain Hang Low?
Your thoughts |
I've got Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint, what other Jay-Z do I need?
Now that 2006 is pretty much over, what's the album of the year? I am going with Bronze Nazareth's Great Migration. Fishscale was really good too. |
Pick up The Black Album and one of its remixes. Kno from CunninLynguists does a good remix of it called The White Album. Pete Rock does his usual with The Black Album as well. No one is better than Pete Rock.
|
No one is better than Pete Rock.
DJ Premier. As for Jay-Z, you've actually picked up the only two really good albums he has made. The other ones are all very inconsistent or just plain bad. The Black Album would be the best choice, I think, that has some of his best tracks on it. |
I can't stop playing Mr. Me Too in my car. The beat is amazing.
|
Yeah, I could do without Pharrell's verse though.
|
Unplugged.
I have this somewhere and remember it being good.
|
Haha Jon, I guess we both really liked the Radix album, huh?

I wouldn't get my hopes up for Detox and that Nas/Premo collaboration. Both won't happen probably, although that collab could be hella nice.
So, the Talib Kweli/Madlib collaboration which is to be downloaded for free is pretty fresh. The first 3 tracks and the last track are awesome, the rest is a bit less impressing but they will probably grow on me. It's cool that they're making it available for free. |
I don't like Madlib's beats, they ruin most songs.
|
The new Dre better come out this year
|
I just listened to Deltron 3030's self titled album.
Whoa Reccomend some more for a rap/hip hop noob |

We Got it For Cheap series are mixtapes. 2 is probably my favorite mixtape, 3 should be better.
|
Nas's Lost Tapes 2 is suppose to come out sometime.
I don't like Madlib's beats, they ruin most songs.
Woot? :( Anyone knows what's up with the Mind Fusion stuff, at Madlibs myspace? http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=29931402 (can't view the link thing) |
I like most Madlib stuff, i'm always excited by his new releases. Nothing tops Shades of Blue in my eyes though.
|
A lot of stuff on that list should be cool. I'll be sure to check out Pharoahe Monch and Deltron 3030.
