Fifteen year olds talking about sex makes me feel uncomfortable.

Alive 02-20-2006 04:38 PM

I had sex with two girls once.

On the internet.

At least I think they were girls; one of their screennames was HunkyGav69 :/

Can anyone beat 50 seconds on intermediate level on Minesweeper?

IT strikes me as a little weird, too.

Kids grow up too fast these days.

Trigger_003 02-21-2006 01:14 AM

Okay, I'm quite scared now.
*cautiously* ...Gav? ... Simon?
/is almost 17 (...in may... >_<) not that I was really talking about it so much

I think it's mainly due to the internet - we're getting exposed to a lot of stuff that we probably wouldn't have encountered until we're quite a bit older. And even if we aren't ourselves, our friends are, so it tends to seep in to conversation one way or another. You've gotta admit, if the intent is there, the younger generation can get away with quite a lot online without their parents having a clue (how many of our parents even know what google is let alone know how to find hidden folders, work out encrypted files and so forth?).

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-21-2006 01:15 AM

I know about it so much 'cause of my bro.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-21-2006 01:16 AM

Sup Trea?

I blew my nose today and after I blow it I move the tissue up and down to help clean. When I did it today my nose went "click click click click click click"

:-/

Trigger_003 02-21-2006 01:17 AM

And Chad?

:p

/sloEDIT: Great fun :/.

I've got a linguistics SAC tomorrow... that's about it

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-21-2006 02:06 AM

What's the SAC on?

Trigger_003 02-21-2006 02:22 AM

Loads of stuff. It's a test on the metalanguage that linguists use, so a lot of stuff on the subsystems of language:
phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics... all the kinda stuff that looks into the formation of words, clauses, sentences, word classes (verbs, prepositions, determiners, adjectives, etc.), various types of morphemes... yeah, I'll stop rambling now lol.
Great subject :).

You had any SACs yet this year?

Hmm, after looking at your join dates. It turns out you are all noobs to the K. Even AES is an October noob.
Pffft.

One maths one, and a psych one if I choose to take the class.

I can't choose between psych and music styles :(.

Music styles FTW!

Do it!

Trigger_003 02-23-2006 01:23 AM

I guess it depends on what you're more interested in, or what you'll feel you'll need more, Gav. Will one help you with law more than the other? Or is the aim just to get as high a score as you can to enable you to get into the law faculty in the first place?

Music styles is probably going to be a subject you'll do great at, but if you're already doing music, do you think it'll be a bit of overkill? You've also gotta consider what classes you'll be able/are wanting to take next year (if you're wanting to do both group and solo, you obviously can't do styles as well, due to there being a limit of two such similar subjects being counted towards your score).
So yeah, take that into consideration.

Psych is a great course, it gets really interesting, particularly in 3 & 4. That said, the work leading up to I think it's the first outcome isn't exactly the most exciting material in the world (though it depends on what you personally find interesting, really). But once you get though that, you can really get into the good stuff.
Psych is one of those subjects that you CAN pick up at 3&4 without any 1&2 prerequisites (so you COULD do one of your current classes just to a 1&2 level, then enrol in 3&4 next year), although that's usually not advised for any subject, as you'll get a better score with the background knowledge.
I'm fairly certain (I can check if you want, but I'm very sure) that you can't do this with styles.

I guess the main questions to ask yourself are
What's your interest in both of these?
Why are you considering taking these particular classes?
Are you intending to carry either of these on to 3 & 4? Which one would you be more likely to take as a 3&4?
Are either of these going to assist you with your preferred career or further training (I guess either score or knowledge wise)?
Answer those and any more that you think of, weigh up your options, talk to a few people at school about it, and try to make a decision earlier rather than later because it's getting harder to catch up as classes go on.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-23-2006 03:42 AM

Trigger_003 02-23-2006 11:30 PM

 no worries. It didn't take long. My fault for lack of msn.

What'd you choose?

We got extra time to finish off our Linguistics assessment task today, so my expectation of a B+/A has gone up to an A/A+ now :).
Weekend!!!

Weekend!!

Yay!

Trigger_003 02-24-2006 01:38 AM

What's plans for yours?

Mine's pretty normal - band rehearsal, swimming...
35C days - can't go wrong.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-24-2006 03:47 AM

I love sleep too much - I think it's unhealthy. (I'm being serious by the way).

Trea; I chose pyschology, for numerous reasons:

Doesn't mess with my timetable (I don't think I told you, but Styles would have messed with my timetable so that I wouldn't get Tuesday 5/6 off which is when I have my piano lesson).
Is extremely easy (like, TOTAL bludge), teacher's cool, etc.
A lot of friends in the class.
And last but not least because I am absolutely obsessed with psychology/psychiatry[sp?] (damn you, Frasier!).
Also next week my chem/psych teachers are on year 7 camp which means I get to sleep in on a couple of days and leave at like 11:30 on a few others.

:).

I've just been out to dinner for this girl I know who's off overseas for maybe forever. We went to a place that does really good pizzas, and they has these nice tasting beers from the czech repuplic.

Tomorrow ima gonna sleep in.

Trigger_003 02-24-2006 02:22 PM

Haha nice Gav. I love psychology too, but I couldn't fit it in as a class :(.

Aww, I hate it when people leave for overseas. It's so hard to keep in contact sometimes. Speaking of that, how's your sister going? Getting back on her feet?

Haha I just checked the weather report. So much for 35C weekend.
/shall never listen to weather as told by other kids at school again
Aww, I hate it when people leave for overseas. It's so hard to keep in contact sometimes. Speaking of that, how's your sister going? Getting back on her feet?
:)

She's going good. Last I spoke to her she was having troubles with accomodation. She's staying in a place with a couple of uni students, except she had never really sorted out a formal rental agreement with the landlord. She was just living there and paying her third of the rent. So the landlord has now caught up to her and said you really should enter into a 6 month rental agreement or move out.
But as nice as it sounds, my sister can't be locked down in a place for 6 months as those other uni kids will be finishing their uni course and moving on in a couple of months time anyway, then she'll have to pay all of the rent or find someone who'd be prepared to rent with her for the remainder of that time. It's just not worth it. So I think she's looking to move into a place with her boyfriend.

She got the run around with a couple of job prospects that she's not too impressed about. She drops comments about it seems to be typical over there, that is getting the run around.

She's coping fine.. It's just not as easy as I think she was expecting it to be, or maybe comparitively not as easy as what I've been getting lately.

I'm going to save up a few dollars and go and visit. Some day.

KKKKKocaine 02-24-2006 05:19 PM

Hehe Moaner.
Some fashioncore kid tried to slag me off so I destroyed him with 1 email :)
I suppose it's hard to come back with an insult when someones just pointed out that by definition, you cross dress.

The sentence 'One of the key factors of being in a band is heart, that ain't something you'll see on the tony and guy price list or in your sisters warddrobe'
was used :p

Nah he was in a strop cause his band are refusing to give their ex guitarist his stack and guitar back whilst claiming it's because they'll have to pay to go down to the practice room to get it out. Which is a load of crap because they've been using his gear and they're just doing it to try and stop him from playing with any other bands, other than that they're generally just ragging on the guy. But then the second you say a word to them it's 'wah wah wah don't pick on us'.

Is the reason he'd have to pay to get it back because the fashion kids spent all their money on haircuts and owe the practise rooms for the time they've used, by any chance?

Trigger_003 02-26-2006 01:20 AM

(Aes: ) Ah, that's good. Shame she's doing it tough still though. I'm guessing she doesn't have any intentions of coming back here to live any time soon?

No fun Gav. I think my music teacher likes me for the sole purpose of her not being able to teach me anything so she gives me jobs to do instead...

Oh and guess what? We have to go all the way down to Phillip Island (~2 hour trip each way - when we could've otherwise walked the 5 minutes to junior campus) to play 12 bars each on our individual instruments to the year 7s - while they eat dinner. On camp. C'mon, how many of them will shut up for that?
And this is even though everyone who was interested in playing has already come to the expo night and signed up.
And I can't take my surfboard :upset:
