Admittedly, I didn't even think of it that way...

We should find a country that's in the EXACT center of the world and we could all go there  Or if not a country, a secluded island.

Hello, Chippendales

Foxfire 08-04-2004 09:28 PM

Foxfire 08-04-2004 10:04 PM

One time when I was playing SOCOM2 these guys started singing this song, to make fun of a guy.

"Ice man, it's gettin' cold in here.
Ice man...I'm naked.
Ice man...give it to me from behind..."

And so on. Was funny hearing it while shooting people up...

That's funny.

Foxfire 08-04-2004 10:15 PM

Indeed it is.

On another occasion, well, let's say someone abused the "n" word. He sounded like he was my age...

"Hey you *** stop being *** you ***s!!! Jesus *** christ you *** can't kill for crap, **** ***s!"
"STOP SAYING ***! It's not a "er" it "ah". Stupid."
"Shut up ***..."

And so on and so forth...

Indeed. I have on tape somewhere of a Stevens hit on Daneyko when Stevens played for the Caps. It was in Steven's favorite place to hit: Neutral zone near the defending blue line. Stevens just obliterated Danyeko. Danyeko fell down, his glove went flying off in another direction. Then of course there is the hit on Lindros from the 2000 Eastern Conference Finals and the hit on Kariya from the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals.
The Lindros hit was amazing. Same with the Kariya. I work at the Pond, and was watching it live when that happened. Then after I saw the replay, I swear that Kariya was dead for like 5 seconds, haha. It was absolutley amazing. And I hate how people call him dirty. He used to be, when he was a rookie, but now his hits are totally clean. It's not his fault if some jackass decides to skate up to the blue line with their head down. And they fall for the trap every time. Madden and one of the wings will force the poor sucker right into Stevens sights, and all he's gotta do is stick his shouldre out and pop, takes em out.

No kidding. Stevens just takes advantage of situation, not to mention he hits like a freight train. It's a cardinal rule in hockey, keep your head up.

Some people thought Stevens should've gotten an elbowing penalty on the Kariya hit, but if you stand Stevens next to Kariya, you'll notice a distinct height difference(Stevens is about 6'3" and Kariya about 5'9", I'm not sure about both but I think those heights are in the ballpark). Kariya with his head down is at about the level of Stevens's elbow, looked clean to me.

As for the Lindros hit, that one looked sweet, Stevens just hit him and he dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Almost took Lindros out of hockey for good. THAT would have been a day to celebrate. Now only if he could get one of those off on Roenick, my life would be complete.

joe
Heh. Both Lindros and Roenick are one hit away from color commentary or being a veggie. For their own sake, they should retire.

If Stevens was playing for the Devils in the 1st round of this year's playoffs, things would've been much different. Either the Devils win in 6 or 7 or they give Philly enough of a thrashing that they don't stand a chance against the Leafs.

JoeDaddio 08-04-2004 10:48 PM

Absolutley. Stevens really pulls the Devils together. He's the heart of their defense. ANd when you play every game with the "if they can't score, they can't win" mentality, pulling out the center peg of your defense if going to be pretty devistating. I was really disapointed in White and Madden not picking up much slack as they should have. They looked like a bunch of pansies out there. I expected a lot from Rupp too, he has a lot to prove. THey let the Flyers punk them. If Stevens were there, at the very least that'd have them looking over their shoulders. ANd there's no way they would have gotten away with all the crap they got away with.

Indeed. Also in that series, Broduer didn't look quite as sharp as the Brodeur we have all come to know, he was still doing the best he could, but he had a couple of pretty sloppy plays.

Both Roenick and Lindros are looking for new locations, apparently. Roenick wants to go back to Phoenix. Lindros is looking at Atlanta (Heatley<if he doesn't go to jail> - Lindros - Kovalchuk?) and Florida.

Tis ok man.

If you got Comcast cable, the Wolves broadcast all of their games on Comcast, so when the AHL season begins, check out some games. I can tell you basic things about the team when the time comes.

Foxfire 08-04-2004 11:03 PM

My dad wants to get DirectTV...but we're going to get Comcast cable for the computer, and since they'll take off a bit on cable for the TV, there's a chance we may get that.

Potatoe 08-04-2004 11:05 PM

That's cool. The Wolves boradcast away AND home, a concept a certain owner of an NHL Franchise in Chicago hasn't grasped yet. I didn't have Comcast cable last season, so I missed their games. I got stuck watching the Hawks get their arses whipped every night. I'm such a sucker for Chicago teams. The Wolves, Bears and Cubs seem to be all that are worth it here, for now.

Interesting fact: In the Wolves' 10 season existance, they have NEVER failed to make the playoffs.

Crapdragoon 08-04-2004 11:31 PM

Direct tv has satillite internet... its EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. and sucks balls, heh

Espbassor 08-04-2004 11:35 PM

I was talking about comcast internet, and am currently on a crappy modem from them that keeps f*ing up and preventing me from posting every time and lagging me on aim + yahoo and generally just dropping my connection every so often :upset:

Yep, but it was better than the dial-up I have now. When my mom has the money, we're getting cable internet.
