I don't know if it's been mentioned at all, from what I can see it hasn't. Anyway, the Sydney show now has an all ages section.

My favorite quote was "Its not how big your pencil is, its how you write your name"

MAthiAS 03-18-2005 03:18 PM

I just downloaded Angry Again live at Woodstock 99... what the fuck!?!?!? Dave's wearing like a sweatsuit, playing a Gibson V, Marty's got an afro, Ellefson cut his hair, what the hell is wrong with them?

willis2441 03-18-2005 05:09 PM

so what happened with daves arm or sumthin?i heard he like pulled a tendon or something and he cant play guitar as good as he used too or something...does anyone know what im talkin bout?

Rasta Rocker 03-18-2005 05:24 PM

I'm starting to get into Megadeth, and I was wondering what their fastest and thrashiest cd is? I'm looking for their older stuff, so possibly their first album?

wrongnote85 03-18-2005 05:26 PM

Killing is my buisness and peace sells are both very fast and thrashy, as is rust in peace. so far so good so what is very hard and thrash, but is a little slower. still very good IMO.

Rasta Rocker 03-18-2005 05:27 PM

thanks mang

wrongnote85 03-18-2005 05:32 PM

ain't no thing. do you play guitar?

rattlehead62 03-18-2005 07:00 PM

I know this much, the best **** guitarist for megadeth was Marty Friedman,he can never be replaced!!!

im a Chris Poland man myself.

Bartender 03-18-2005 07:22 PM

Is Train of Consequences a good Megadeth song or a bad Megadeth song?

Arise II 03-18-2005 07:25 PM

IMO, its prety **** good (one of the few good post CTE-songs). But why the **** ask us, why not get the song and decide for yourself?

Bartender 03-18-2005 07:28 PM

I do have the song :) I really like it. I was just wondering whether it's generally considered a good song amongst Megadeth fans, being from a later album as it is. I suppose I worded it badly :-/

It's one of the more popular ones, but yeah, I like it. I'd hardly call Youthanasia a later album, more a mid period one.

Bartender 03-18-2005 08:01 PM

Well I just meant later than all the albums that are considered their masterpieces.

Yeah, he injured his left arm and had to relearn how to play guitar, but is fine now. Rumor has it it was staged so he could break up the band.

The thing I don't understand about that rumour is that why would Dave effectively kill Megadeth, then bring it back for a tour and then say that it may possibly live on?

1) For his own reasons of wanting to disband it.
2) He brought it back because he owed the label another album.
3) He says it might live on because the tour is going so well.

you cant kill megadeth

Arise II 03-19-2005 05:48 AM

Did you guys know that Friedman had the same arm problem for a while? Don't remember exactly when it was though

Apocalyptic Raids 03-19-2005 07:28 AM

I remember dave saying on the rude awakening dvd that he had a breakdown or something, and was on lots of medication, cant remember the details. It was late 90's i think.

Riva 03-19-2005 07:53 AM

Mustaine was Megadeth for a while there. Now the tour is going well, he may try to start the band again in earnest.
ain't no thing. do you play guitar?
i play bass

Arise II 03-19-2005 12:49 PM

Good enough ;)

Endless Obsession 03-19-2005 01:18 PM

It would be incredible if they played ozzfest with marty friedman or chris poland, ellefson, and nick menza.

but i dont think that would happen, dont ellefson and mustiane like hate each other now?

IAJP 03-19-2005 01:24 PM

The band pretty much fell apart after Risk.
It would be awesome if Menza and Friedman were there, Ellefson wasn't really integral to Megadeth IMO but it'd be cool if he was there.

btoto 03-19-2005 02:03 PM

I doubt that junior and Dave will headbang on the same stage again. As for Marty, he's in Japan now playing for Japanese pop and rock bands. He loves it, lives in that country and that's great he found what he was looking for. I don't understand why people accuse him of touring with pop stars (well, I did that too, but now I'm sorry).

Nick, I think lied to Megadeth about his foot that's why they fired him. And Dave hates liars. So, put a cross on him too.

Chris on the other hand was the closest "ex" to re-join the band, as he played on TSHF. But now that his management sued Dave and he's probably touring somewhere with OHM, it seems beyond reality.

And I don't know what Al or Jimmy are doing now. Anyone???

I'd really love to see Chris there again but I guess the new guys should get a chance and take part in the next record (if there's any). I heard only positive things about new members and if Dave's also happy about them (which is a rare thing: happy Mustaine), then why not???

MAthiAS 03-19-2005 05:41 PM

Poland sued Dave? For what? Dave seems to have forgiven Poland for stealing his gear back in the 80s... Nick had some medical thing... okay. I could see Marty maybe doing something in the future because there's no bad blood between him and Dave, but I think Dave asked him to rejoin and he declined.

Anyway, Glen is a great guitarist, IMO better than Al, I'd like to see what he can bring to the table composition wise.

vashts80 03-19-2005 05:48 PM

Well...if Dave doesn't make a new Megadeth album, this lineup will be his solo lineup, afaik. If he makes a new 'deth album, this will still be the lineup.

Menza was supposed to come back for the tour, but IIRC he wasn't physically able to perform the songs anymore or something like that.

I'd love to see Dave/Marty/James/Nick though. That'd be amazing imo.

IAJP 03-19-2005 06:12 PM

Hands up who thinks Nick Menza is the best metal drummer!
*Raises hand*

Jr. co-wrote plenty of songs, and was there from day one. IMO he was the glue that held everything together. i've read many articles saying that he was always the peacekeeper, much like kirk in metallica. Jr. is an excellent bass player and i would love to see him back in the band at some point. i know i would sleep better.

Deth 03-19-2005 06:17 PM

I'm stuck between Menza and Nicko McBrain.

I abstain.

Yeah, It'd be cool if he was there, can't see it happening though.
