Get Slaughtercult, I guess.
So, Jimmy, who do you want to kill? :smoke:
I flat out told my brother-in-law when we got into a fight a few years ago that if he ever ****ed with me or my family again I would kill him.
I need some Exhumed. Any recommendations?
Gore Metal, Slaughtercult and Anatomy Is Destiny are all pretty decent. Nothing new or unique, but pretty solid Carcass worship.

Whoa, wtf did homeboy do?

Stevie 07-12-2007 02:29 PM

don't waste your time with exhumed and get some massacra instead.

i am the robots 07-12-2007 02:29 PM

Yeah, Exhumed is really overrated.

VomitStainedCretin 07-12-2007 02:59 PM
I smell the makings of an awesome album cover.
Yes, you could always do something equivalent to Dawn of the Blackhearts or like Absurd, who had the tombstone of a kid they killed on an album cover

TojesDolan 07-12-2007 04:48 PM

Heh, nice.

Anything involving corpses in an album cover should be nice to listen to. :-o

Like Terrorthrone.

This latest bullshit started over something so stupid it's barely even worth mentioning. For months he's been telling us that he's going to help us out and golf in our golf outing. Then a couple days ago, my wife finds out that he's changed his mind and is doing another one that day. So she sent him an e-mail (I've seen the entire trail of e-mails so I've read both sides of it, I'm not just going on what one person said) that basically said "We were counting on you. Thanks for what you've done, we appreciate it, but we're kind of upset that you're ditching us and your neice's cause to go get drunk with some guys from work." And he came back and started putting words in her mouth, personally attacking her for calling him out on it, saying that he should just beat her ***, **** you blah blah blah and saying all kinds of crap about her, me and our kids. I dont give a damn if he wants to talk crap about me. I've already beat the daylights out of him once. But when he starts personally attacking my wife and kids that's something else entirely.

Anyone like Deranged in here? I've been listening to High on Blood lately. Good stuff.

Angmar 07-12-2007 09:38 PM

Never heard of, what style of DM, I need more as is.

LifeInABox 07-12-2007 10:15 PM

DM hybrids are odd sometimes.

Swedish Brutal Death Metal. Reminds me of a mix of Deicide and Vomitory. Its pretty good.

Anatomy Is Destiny is pretty solid.

Slapping Penguin 07-13-2007 02:37 AM

Okay fellas sorry about the Dargon attack before. But please don't all jump down my throat as it was my first time I have jumped at him.
Won't happen again.

Anyway I am listening to Quo Vadis for the first time and the first time for melodeath in a while. I like it. What do others think?

i am the robots 07-13-2007 02:38 AM

Quo Vadis has some really good songs, On The Shores Of Ithaka is the only one I can recall at the moment, but a lot of their stuff is just kind of off for me.

Slapping Penguin 07-13-2007 02:40 AM

I have only heard two songs so far.

Not enough heavy riffs in ratio to melodic riffs so far.

That's been my problem as of late with my own material. I managed to get the melody I was looking for, but got so wrapped up in leads and overdubs that I sacrificed a bit of heavy riffage.

Sounds good, but I think I want to return to the heaviness after this EP.

Melodic riff saturation is perfect imo.

Their non-melodic riffs are kind of bogus.

Slapping Penguin 07-13-2007 02:57 AM

The issue I have with melody in metal as of lately is that they are such predictable melodies. The melodies are always like

G:-----------------------------------------------------------4
D:-------------------------------------------------5-4--4-5--
A:-------7---6-7-------10----10-9-------0---3-2------6------
E: 0-000---0 ----8-888-----8------5-555---5-----3-----------

Well, kinda like that but I am sure you know what I mean.

i am the robots 07-13-2007 02:59 AM

Well that's normally the easiest type of appealing, pretty sounding melodic part you can come up with, and not many people want to come up with something new because they want their music to sound "good" objectively... and thus make their music more watered down.

Slapping Penguin 07-13-2007 03:21 AM

Yeah I can understand what you mean, and at times in my writing I might just throw a riff in of that style to mix things up a little and if it is fitting but to say thats the only type of appealing/pretty melody I think is wrong.

For pretty melodies they could take more influence from Classical/Baroque/Romantic music. Also don't make the melody the riff. Use it as an accompanment or the focus over the top of something else. Thats just my feelings.

LifeInABox 07-13-2007 10:24 AM

Anyone here like Cephalic Carnage?

Yeah, Quo Vadis aren't exactly known for their heavy riffs...might as well stick to what they can do right.

I've only got one of their albums but it's pretty decent.
Anyone here like Cephalic Carnage?
yes i do... i have Anomalies

LegionsofMarduk 07-13-2007 10:48 AM
yes i do... i have Anomalies
That's the one I've got. I've heard a few of their older songs, but that's the only full album I have.

ATM 07-13-2007 10:49 AM

The new one is good, too.

LifeInABox 07-13-2007 11:33 AM

Which is better iyo, Anomalies or the new one?
