Does anyone know, when Metallica play Blackened, do they actually play the intro? I read somewhere how Kirk said it was hard to recreate the solo in Blackened.

superpeer 03-08-2004 10:07 AM

Yeah they play it.

SlaveToTheGrind 03-08-2004 10:25 AM

metallica will rule again when they release another great trash album

Most of the time, no, they play it over the speakers like Battery.

Burdcheese 03-08-2004 11:20 AM

Has anyone used www.livemetallica.com?

not the solo. the intro to blackened is several layered guitars all playing a riff backwards. so i don't even know if you could play that live.

also on battery james uses a nylon acoustic. can't really fill the medowlands with a nylon acoustic.

If they play that set list in Peoria, it will oficially be the second best concert I have ever been to. (The first is a tie between Anthrax in Chicago, or Megadeth in Chicago)

LeadGuitarist 03-09-2004 01:32 PM

I really like it when Hetfield sing the solo in MOP.

xtreme_skatah 03-09-2004 06:45 PM

What does Hetfield sing in the solo? Never been to a Metallica concert so I don't know anything they do.

BludgeonySteve 03-09-2004 06:51 PM
I really like it when Hetfield sing the solo in MOP.
Which solo? The first one which is beautiful and well time or the second one which is a fast piece of crap and is completely unnecessary? The first one right?

vegiemaster 03-09-2004 07:52 PM

I have a Metallica question. What does the S & M stand for on their live cd? Personally I think it stands for San Francisco Symphony Orchestra & Metallica, but my youth pastor thinks it stands for sadomasochism I realize that it is abreviate like this but is that something that was done intentionally? Does anyone have a way to prove or disprove either? Any facts would be nice, thanks. (Forgive me. I don't normally post this formally.)

Lionheart1827 03-09-2004 09:01 PM

he just does "ooooohhhs" singing along to the first interlude solo to MoP. it sounds great when he does it. he did it over the summer. :thumb:

S&M=Symphony & Metallica :thumb:

Yeah it's symphony and Metallica.

ydebing 03-10-2004 11:32 AM

I went to a metallica concert a few months ago, it was really asome. They played guitar solos in some st anger songs (frantic i think), it was like with the solo, the song was kinda perfect, have any of you heard that? and did you think about it?

vegiemaster 03-10-2004 05:27 PM

thx guys now i can tell him that i was told by "reliable sources" ;) what it ment :thumb:
