Bronze Nazareth's Great Migration is winning the Wu-Tang album of the year. Probably rap album of the year so far. The beats are so good.

ATM 10-10-2006 07:58 PM

American Hunger is pretty cool, thanks for the suggestion.

Any Count Bass D fans?

Good album, but how does that count as a Wu-Tang album, though? Wu-Tang affiliated, yeah but that can't count. Masta Killa's is ok, too. Nazareth produces some tracks on it. I love "Iron God Chamber" the most, not the most spectacular beat but it fits perfectly for me. And RZA and Meth absolutely kill the track.

Edit: "Who can take a sunray, twist it to rainbow / toss it upon your head like the Kangol" makes me smile everytime.

sgrevs 10-11-2006 04:23 AM

Ghostface Killah's Fishscales is totally pwning me right now, it's fucking great so far. I was also reasonalby impressed with Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.... Can't wait to listen to the new Method Man. What's the verdict on it?

JonM 10-11-2006 09:44 AM

It's good. A little bloated, but it's still thoroughly enjoyable. I listened to it through last night.

beso negro 10-11-2006 02:17 PM

Someone give me good songs by Bone Thugs N Harmony to download, as well as Mobb Deep.

Don't be shy.

Quirky Turkey 10-11-2006 03:06 PM

I just heard the new M.I.A track XR-2. Wow.

Album number 2 is gonna be something pretty special by the sound of things.

antiant 10-11-2006 08:19 PM

^ yeah really...i haven't gotten any songs in ages, it's better just to have an album collection and get an 'overall' sense of the artist

Zesty Mordant 10-11-2006 08:30 PM

I've been digging the new Roots album lately. It's not great but still pretty good and I can't see why everyone has been trashing it so much.

sgrevs 10-12-2006 01:49 AM

I can't believe i never used to like hip-hop. it's pretty much all i've been listening to for the last month. Especially Wu-Tang and all affiliated artists. Thank god for sputnik.

*does not actually believe in god*

I saw Wu-Tang in August. How much cooler than all of you am I?

pixiesfanyo 10-12-2006 02:01 AM

Wu-Tang had too play a free show in my town, because they destoryed a local hotel.

Anyways, I'm digging Cyne alot lately. Probably the best current rap group in my opinion.

Omigosh im so jealous. It must have been incredible, I'd love to see them. What was their setlist like?
Omigosh im so jealous. It must have been incredible, I'd love to see them. What was their setlist like?
I'll see what I can remember. Let's see...

Triumph
Incarcerated Scarfaces (Raekwon)
4th Chamber (GZA)
Liquid Swords (GZA)
Shimmy Shimmy Ya (ODB, with his mom on stage)
Method Man

That's all I can say positively, but they did way more than that. I think they did Bring Da Ruckus, Aint Nuttin Ta Fuck Wit, C.R.E.A.M., some Ghostface songs, and a bunch more. Not to mention De La Soul also played, with Phife, Redman, Del, Immortal Technique, Planet Asia, Zion I, Murs, Living Legends, and Mos Def and Kweli. Quite a day.

Kyle 10-12-2006 07:48 AM

Wow........

sgrevs 10-12-2006 09:27 AM

That is an awesome setlist, but how was ODB there...

twilight zone...

Eliminator 10-12-2006 02:24 PM

I think he means that they did an ODB song with his mom on stage.

or something.

raus 10-12-2006 03:25 PM

Yeah. They did a few more ODB songs with his mom onstage, and got a bunch of ODB chants going.

WU-TANG IS FOR THE CHILDREN

raus 10-12-2006 03:57 PM

Speaking of which, a bunch of their sons came out and waved Wu-Tang flags and did a song or two.

ATM 10-12-2006 06:00 PM

I'm grabbin the new Bahamadia album. Any fans?

antiant 10-12-2006 06:09 PM

ha, thanks again arrest for the news, i've been trying to get a bahamadia album for quite some time and the fact that there's a new one coming, makes for better searches, i'll definitely look for it, along with the zion i/grouch one, hopefully it won't be a dud again...i'm also getting eligh and grouch's full discography :D

edit: maybe not@easy searching...i never could find her on sites...any tips where to look?

sgrevs 10-12-2006 06:47 PM
Yeah. They did a few more ODB songs with his mom onstage, and got a bunch of ODB chants going.
That is way too cool. I want to see Wu-Tang :upset:

they'll never come to sydney.

A couple of them guested on the Lord Jamar album and on another album that I can't remember now. How old are they? At least it's not like some Bow Wow nepotism going on.

raus 10-13-2006 10:10 PM

They've got a track on Masta Killa's new joint too. They're pretty good.

ATM 10-13-2006 11:27 PM

Im hoping to see Del on the tours hes on now.

raus 10-13-2006 11:33 PM

Del's voice was much higher pitched live.

Robert Crumb 10-13-2006 11:37 PM

I've never seen Del solo, but he's awesome with the Hieroglyphics. Dudes know how to put on a show. Probably the best live rap group I've seen. But I missed my chance to see the Wu and I can't imagine another group that could top 'em outside of the Clan.
