I think that this release date is for real, even Victory has it on their site.

Buzzbomb 02-04-2006 09:42 PM

Yeah but Victory also said it would be out January 20th.
a drum-teacher i work with listened to the whole KN cd and said that he thinks the drummer's horrible
He isn't good, that's for sure. The drums are much better on Everything goes numb.

I'm not gonna argue with that, but i wouldn't say the drummer from Catch 22 is horrible, i think the rimshots in 9mm are quite good.

AIRIC 02-05-2006 11:17 AM

The drummer on KN has a bit of a snare obsession.

DaveToopes 02-05-2006 11:54 AM

I like his use of snare on KN though.

MAthiAS 02-05-2006 12:13 PM

I think it works pretty well though.

Anybody know what gear Tomas used on Everything Went Numb?

AIRIC 02-05-2006 12:14 PM

Yeah I don't mind it, but it is a bit much.

DaveToopes 02-05-2006 12:19 PM

Fixed.

MAthiAS 02-05-2006 12:21 PM

Ah my bad, thinking the song.

DaveToopes 02-05-2006 12:23 PM

I do that sometimes too. As for Tomas' gear, I have no idea.

True.
The drums on EGN are amazing.

Lukeh 02-05-2006 01:43 PM

I spent aaages trying to find out what he uses so I could get the same equipment as him.

Although I'm not sure what he uses after the robbery and all, but before
His guitar is an Ibanez AS83 hollowbody and his amp is a digital Fender model, possibly a FM212 by the looks of it. I'm not sure wether or not he uses any paticular EQ or anything but by the sounds of it he just uses his amp's distortion whenever he needs it without any kind of other effects pedal.

Super Nintendo 02-05-2006 02:06 PM

i like streetlight manifesto, but i havent heard catch 22 or botar, are them like streetlight manifesto?

Liebensaft 02-05-2006 02:45 PM

Download the album Keasbey Nights by Catch 22 right this minute. Oh, and the BotAR EP is damn good too.

DaveToopes 02-05-2006 03:08 PM

I second that.

DuckinFutch8 02-06-2006 12:26 AM

I love Paul Lowndes' drumming on EGN, is Chris Thatcher a lot like him?

I love his sound too...

Henrik 02-06-2006 11:46 AM

He plays the same.

_lower_class_brat_ 02-09-2006 03:07 PM

it says on the victory web site that keasbey nights release date is March 7

Liebensaft 02-09-2006 06:48 PM

Yes....we know.

<---NoFX---> 02-10-2006 12:20 PM

I heard the BOTAR EP is being re-released

DuckinFutch8 02-14-2006 09:42 PM

I heard that SM was releasing a 2nd original album this year, anyone know anything about this?

I know about Keasby Nights and about BOTAR's album

Yeah I don't know about on the album but certainly live the only thing Tomas has is a little pedal with a circular button on it that he hits whenever he wants distortion. When you gots skills like that you don't need tech.

Hmm, I'm pretty that's a foot-switch then to switch from the (amazing sounding) clean tones to the (poor quality) distortion on his amp, because all the guitarists I know (including myself I guess, but I don't make such a fuss) say that his distortion sounds seriously awful (which would come from him just using his amps distortion), but it fits quite nicely with the music and really doesn't matter when you're as awesome as Tom Kalnoky. It just goes to show how well he makes use of his equipment, considering as it would probably only cost about £600 to get the same entire guitar set up as the man himself.

/must sound like a such a geek...

In the last verse of Here's to Life, it says "KBC you died much too young"

Who does KBC refer to?
