I only recently discovered the delights of Rush. My favourite song is The Enemy Within by far, I could listen to it on repeat literally for hours. The bassline on that song is so wickedly catchy :D
|
WEEEEEE!!!!! I'm seeing Rush in Tampa!!
|
I might see them on 7-9 in CT
|
I've decided that because they're my favorite band and probably touring for the last time, i'll have to see them in Calgary and Toronto.
|
Touring for the last time?!? WTF?
I may need to see them then. |
Well I don't know for sure. But i'm not taking any chances. They're all in their 50s.
|
Well, they've been touring forever and don't really show any signs of stopping, right? 50s isn't THAT old.
Oh, they're playing Camden right when I'm out of town. Perfect :( |
so, ok the are in their 50's, but how old is Rolling Stones? :p
and.. Guess what i have laying in front of me? :p |
Good for you...
I woke up yesterday, and turned on the radio, only to discover that the Snakes and Arrows World Album Premiere was on. It really brightened my day. The funny thing is, if I didn't have to work yesterday, I probably would have missed it. So work did something good for me... aside from putting money in my pocket. September 19th in Toronto! I'm there. |
I caught that on the radio too...I must say I was impressed...not blown away, but impressed nonetheless. I'm sure it'll take a few listens to grow on me, just like most Rush stuff.
2 months, 19 days, and 6 or so hours I'll be 11 rows away from Geddy Lee :D:D:D |
I'll be getting my special edition CD/DVD tomorrow at work. Seeing them in June. This summer is going to be awesome.
|
I ordered my tickets last night... And I guess I'll be going to the show on the 22nd in Toronto.
My seats aren't really that great... but I'll be there... |
I'm thinking about going to the show, how much do tickets run???? and yea i just got Rush's "gold" tonight, seeing as the place was sold out of Snakes and Arrows, how is that album, my guess is real heavy soundin?
|
man i heard the preview for snakes and arrows on q-107 but it's so much better than i thought it would be. so far my fav songs off it are malignant narcissism (becasue geddy plays a jaco bass on it) and armour and sword ("no one gets to heaven without a fight" - very nice line and it's just solid)
|
Hi, I'm new here. :)
|
Anyone know the setlist for the tour??
Seeing them In toronto :D:D:D:D |
I heard that they're playing Circumstances and Passage to Bangkok on this tour. Apparently Geddy will be bringing out the Rickenbacker on Passage. I'm so excited for this concert.
|
They played Camden but I was in Wyoming at the time :(
|
i saw em when they came to boston in june and it was really good. only dissapointment was they didnt do any of the really old stuff like 2112 or working man
|
I heard a song on the radio last night trying to get the name of it. All I caught was Max ________ featuring Geddy Lee, anyone know what song I'm talking about?
Edit: I found it Max Webster Featuring Geddy Lee - Battle Scar |
The concert I went to a few weeks ago was amazing. I loved the South Park intro to Tom Sawyer and Im glad they played Passage to Bangkok. That was the first Rush song I heard.
|
snakes and arrows is really growing on me. up there with their best for me
|
I think I'm going to pick up Rush in Rio today.
|
Rush is possibly my all time favorite band, I like the 80's Rush music the best.

One of the best live DVD's I own. It was definitely worth the $30. |
I saw them on Monday in San Diego. I went with my girlfriend and we both loved it. It was both of our's first concert, which makes it even better. The setlist was great; we hadn't heard a few of the songs and it was cool to hear the classics live. I can't believe the energy they have too! They all seemed really happy to be there and they seemed to be having a great time. The crowd was great too. "Far Cry" is so good live too; I definetely need to get the new album.
|
Okay I'm a Rush n00b but I just bought 2112, and it is fricken amazing. Beyond belief. The title track (more like epic opera) is fantastic, and my two favorite of the remaining tracks is the Bangkok one and the Twilight Zone.
These guys are amazing beyond existence. And I think Geddy Lee's vocals rock on this album. Why do people not like it? |

Cool, I was there as well. I was disappointed with the setlist but they played a few of my favorites too. |

I was hoping someone on here was at that same one too. Did you see Neil Peart kinda half smile at one time? I can't remember when, but that alone was worth the ticket price and gas lol.
Why do people not like it?
The only thing I can think of is that some people's brains aren't advanced enough to accept the ultimate coolness that is 2112. Also, if you like 2112 so much, I highly recommend you find a copy of Hemispheres. In my opinion, Cygnus is equal to, if not better than, 2112. |
Actually, I was referring to why people don't like Geddy's vocals :P
Anyways, Hemispheres, eh? Thanks. I'll put it on my list. |
