Yeah, I would go for them! Looks like a great deal. So you would still be looking for hats and a ride. I remembered about a minute ago that I'm selling my old hi-hats and ride. Zildjian 20" ZXT Rock Ride and 14" ZBT Hi-Hats. Interested? Around £80 for both?
Where about are you in the UK? P&P might cost a bit. |
hmmm, i might have to think about this, are they good condish?cracks, key-holes etc?
i'm in louth, lincolnshire on the east coast about halfway down :P |
East coast too! Except just opposite Dundee. (nearly halfway up Scotland)
Yeah they are good condish (ride has a tiny dent (dropped it on the bus :()) but makes no difference whatsoever, and would only get worse if you crashed that part of the ride repeatedly (which is pretty rare). No keyholes or cracks. They're a wee bit dirty, but I would cleand them first. There is a tiny bit of fading of the logos on the ride too. |
tbo, i think i'm going to get some new cymbals for the new kit, i'll probably start by getting these
then maybe this or this then finally this thanks for telling me about wuhans, i had no idea they were this cheap, btw, which would you say out of wuhan s series hats or zbt/zxt hats? |
Wuhans are compared to Zildjian A's, which are amazing, and ZBT/ZXT are beginner. Get the Wuhans :)
|
cheers 3 times round, you don't need underscores btw
|
I registered my name as 3timesround, but some one had already taken that, so I just put underscroes in.
|
meh...make a new account, i'm sure you won't miss that one too much :)
i'm stuck between wuhan S series and Wuhan rock hats :( help please |
Nsh, I can't be bothered with the wait to start new threads (even though I haven't made any yet), and sorry, I've never actually heard a Wuhan. Everyone says they are great cymbals though.
|
no problem i think the s series look nicer so i think i'm gonna go for them
|

paistes are awesome but they are more expensive than zildjian and sabian etc. |
Depends where you are in the world, ie, they are less expensive in Switzerland (where they are made I think) They are more expensive overseas due to tariffs, taxes and what not.
|
Ok here is going to be my new set up. Two main18' A (med. or projections not sure on that ) crashes. Then Z custon mega bell ride. 20' A crash ( not sure what type need help on that med. regualr. or projection.) and a 16' A crash. so what do u think idk about hats yet not thinking that far ahead.

If it's rock music, or a variant of rock, they would suit you perfectly. Z custom rides are very good (maybe look into 19" Trash Ride) and would be very cutting above the 20" Crash. I think it will be up to you wheether to go for Projections or Mediums. |
.....I KNOW THIS WILL SEEM STUPID BUT ALL THE SHOPS WERE CLOSED SO I DIDN'T BUY IT YET......................... well this leaves more time for a choice, has anyone got more suggestions?(the pst 3 and 5 arn't professional are they?)
|
no they arent.
the PST5 replaces the old 502's |
PST5: For the manufacture of PST 5 cymbals we use the same high-grade bronze alloy as in our professional class, which became famous through our 2002 series. The combination of this sonorous bronze with the new production method provides drummers with new sound dimensions, and due to the rich program, with numerous possibilities to design an individual cymbal set.
I' ve interpreted as a "these aren' t pro cymbals but they are made of good material" lets say semi-pro |
they arent semi-pro either
they are buget/beginner cymbals |
but i would prefer some pro cymbals, i was tented by zildjian k' s but I m not sure they are thick enough, by the way the most important question is ride or crash...... or maby a splash or china, whatever.I have a 16 crash and an 18 crash/ride cuold you tell me some dimensions too (thanks for all this help i know i sound annooying but this is the first cymbal i'm choosing and I want it perfect ;-) )
|
Best advice is to go out and try all the cymbals you can. I advise you to opt for a ride first because it is the most important cymbal.
|
and because if you dont get a ride first, Plan B. will snatch another one up
|
 yea I know but I have a crash/ride from pearl that can make the job and I prefer playing crashes rather than ride :upset: :upset: but........ I think I ll end up with a ride it is more important :( anyway, ive heard that the best rides are sabian...??? true?
