What's the point? Don't cheapen the song for the radio :upset:

I want them to play Deliverance on the radio...all 13 minutes :)
I meant it would suck to have no growls....just in case you were confused. :)

the2stranger 03-12-2005 11:07 AM

first tourdate of Opeth is up:

27th may Vienna

not that I'm going, but they are touring at least, hope they come to Holand this summer

I wasn't...that's what I was talking about

Deth 03-12-2005 02:45 PM

I have a friend who won't listen to any song over 7 minutes. Needless to say he doesn't like Opeth.

the2stranger 03-12-2005 02:57 PM

those people don't know what they're mssing :p

for me a 15 minute song seems to end in 3 minutes, I get so carried away,

Deth 03-12-2005 02:58 PM

All of my favorite songs are over 8 minutes so Opeth fits that bill just fine.

Nice, that means the new album will be out by then. :D

Prince of Darkness 03-13-2005 08:39 AM

I love Opeth and Tool, but I started listening Opeth before Tool and I was hooked, thats all I listened to. Opeth Opeth Opeth. CD's here DVD there, Opeth was my life. Then Tool came along, first with Latelarus then Aenema then Undertow(Working backwards, very Toolish of me:) But this time i still listened to Opeth and Tool. Not just Tool. But this made me shove Opeth aside. and for this, I am really angry, I havn't been listening any Opeth for the last 6months, but I want to, but I just enjoy Tool, Dream Theater and Mars Volta a lot more.

Would still like to see Opeth live. The Tool/Opeth thing would make my life.

Tool toured with Meshuggah, so...maybe...it might depend on whether members of Tool listen to Opeth.

I just picked up morningrise yesterday. Black Rose Immortal owns me now. I'm listening to it now :) .

Fun fact: on the side of the CD, they spell morningrise mornigrise.
Fun fact: on the side of the CD, they spell morningrise mornigrise.
they do?
never noticed
/runs of to take a look at cd

and yes the entire Morningrise cd owns, you, and me, it's just, great :thumb:

Cain 03-14-2005 10:58 AM

Learning the acoustic parts of Opeth songs really helped my fingerpicking skill and tone. I've become really fond of medieval-sounding minor-key fingerpicking as a result.

the2stranger 03-14-2005 12:43 PM

I love the midieval tone, though they haven't really used it since morning rise.
Mikael got tired of it, but they could do one song on the new album, with that tone, that would satisfy me :)

Deth 03-14-2005 08:39 PM

It will be interesting to see whats on the new album, and whether its a new style for Opeth altogether or a mash of all of their old styles.

My moneys on the first by the way.

FlyingPaul_83 03-14-2005 08:57 PM

So are they the kind od death metal band who screams and grunts a lot?

Deth 03-14-2005 09:00 PM

Its a growl, but not all the time. He has AMAZING clean vocals and acoustic sections. Every member is awesome and seeing as we share common musical ground I highly suggest them. Ask the other guys some questions, because this is my last post of the night.

See everyone tomorrow.

Yeah, I finally got the DVD and he said something about how he is getting tired of the style they are doin. So i thinking a whole new Opeth.
