Today its mostly been sonic youth and the fall right now

Tangy zizzle 11-10-2004 02:57 AM

Yeaaahh, The Fall.

LoveToSkank 11-10-2004 02:59 AM

Please, please, please... I can't emphasize this enough... Please! Do yourself a favor and check out The Weakerthans and The Spill Canvas. They are too good for you to not hear.

Ornery Cephalopod 11-10-2004 08:03 AM

I haven't listened to it in a couple days, but parts of Kaada/Patton's Romances is stuck in my head...

That's good enough qualification for "diggin' it" status in my book.

Tangy zizzle 11-10-2004 02:03 PM

Cursive will just not leave me.

Holy crap this band has made an impression with me. Seriously, try and find a better genre band than Cursive.

Zappa 11-10-2004 02:20 PM

"White People" by Handsome Boy Modeling School. I bought it yesterday, and listened to it twice that night.

Tangy zizzle 11-10-2004 02:23 PM

You seem to be raving about a lot.

I'll download it.

YDload 11-10-2004 02:29 PM

Try "A Day in the Life" Tangy; I managed to like it despite not being a big fan of rap or hip-hop. Features Cedric Bixler doing his best Macy Gray impression, I think.

Tangy zizzle 11-10-2004 02:34 PM

...but I like Hip Hop.

YDload 11-10-2004 02:36 PM

Then you'll like HBSM even more, methinks!

Zappa 11-10-2004 02:42 PM

A lot of it has no rapping at all! It's a very odd album, but it really confirms my belief that Dan the Automator and Prince Paul can guide anyone into cutting a good record. They've got all these unlikely groupings of people, and they manage to not only make them work together, but help them to do some of their best work in any context.

Iai 11-10-2004 02:44 PM

I back this up - White People is probably 2004's greatest record.

Big-Bird 11-10-2004 02:53 PM

These days I've been on the Pixies bandwagon

ZEROthirtythree 11-10-2004 02:55 PM
At The Drive-In are awful, Wide.

You lose.
That was hilarious  x 10

Alt/Indie would be so boring without YDload

br3ad_man 11-10-2004 02:58 PM

...and without you laughing at him all the time

YDload 11-10-2004 03:07 PM

Hey, I could be a jerk who sequesters himself in the R&M all the time in order to be superior to everyone (except Badmoon), but I choose to come here and learn about bands I've never heard of! I don't have to expound my musical ignorance in what I thought was a fairly open-minded subforum, but I do in order to learn!

Iai 11-10-2004 03:08 PM

And we love and respect you for it, Ian.

Tangy zizzle 11-10-2004 03:10 PM

YDload, your the smartest retard I've ever come across.

YDload 11-10-2004 03:18 PM

This is damaging to my self-esteem. I have to go make fun of noobs in R&M now. I can't take the hideous paradox of being revered in some forums and patronized in others! *tries to slit wrists, but flood of emo tears causes razor to rust*

Big-Bird 11-10-2004 03:22 PM

I like your palm-tree though

Zappa 11-10-2004 04:17 PM
You seem to be raving about a lot.

I better watch it. If I rave enough, I'll start to find a way to mention it in EVERY single thread I post in. At that point I will morph into OrbDragon.

mainkafan 11-10-2004 05:42 PM

New Artist and Sounds.....

Check this guy out. He's also giving away a free, autographed Billy Sheehan guitar.

Check out "Do You Miss Me"!

I just discovered The Notorious Byrd Brothers and I have been listening to it just about nonstop. It's a psychedelic gem.

Can-Tago Mago
Arcade Fire-Funeral
Frankenixon-Amourphous--these guys remind me alot of Explosions in the Sky meets PJ Harvey. Impasse is a good song by them.

Tangy zizzle 11-10-2004 09:42 PM

w00000000000000000t!

These guys are pretty **** good, they're from the Des Moines area so I've seen them in concert twice in the 3 month span I've been here...

br3ad_man 11-11-2004 12:50 AM

You're so cool. It seems that every time someone mentions a band I've never heard of, you always know who they are.

This place actually isn't all that open minded anymore :upset:.
