I was honestly not amused. Maybe the hail of laughter from the American contingent set me up for something funnier and disappointment is crushing any sliver of amusement I'd have gotten from it. :-/

If he'd done something a bit more surrealistic or even just pretended to have dialled the wrong number, I would have laughed. I just generally don't find random swear words funny. The only three exceptions are Monty Python, Michael Gerber and the game of PENIS.

Maybe it's one of those cultural boundaries. To me, that was very poorly timed.

Things like John Cleese's speech at Graham Chapman's funeral service, that is a great example of comedic timing making a curse word funny and even semi-acceptable.
