i got a question did cliff write some of the metallica riffs?
|
Wouldn't surprise me... I read somewhere Cliff taught James some guitar, but I've been doubting that lately.
|
i got a question did cliff write some of the metallica riffs?
he always wrote on the instrumentals, and i know for a fact he wrote the begining master of puppets riff |
I would assume he wrote all of the bass riffs..obviously. Though with Metallica most of the bass does tend to just back up the guitar.
|
Metallica started a whole awsome genre of music. Then they bent over, grabbed their ankles, and got phucked in the asss by the record company, then they make a documetary about themselves, and payed a guy 40,000g's a month to tell them how to talk to each other. Kirk hammett needs to go solo.
|
Piecewise, shut the hell up, please.. That was very uncalled for, and much off-topic.
|
not to mention pointless.

Well, with Cliff, that wasn't the case, Cliff often had bass was independant from guitar (Especially notable on Kill 'em All in my opinion). But yeah, when Jason came online, I think they kinda did that. |

Why do you care what they spend their money on? |

That's why I didn't say Master of Puppets....
|
Myself and another person on here read the same article, I now am not sure if it was a recent BassPlayer or Guitar world magazine. The article stated that Cliff was the most "musically advanced" member of Metallica and he did teach James some theory. I have the magazine in a box with my other 12,768 bass and guitar mags and I could dig it up......some people seem to have a hard time believing that....the article also mentions that Cliff was on his way to being a good guitar player according to Hammet....

interesting. Cliff always struck me as the most mature member of Metallica, musically as well. |

Leper Messiah does :) ironic :P |
Leper Messiah is a good song

Please just shut up because:

Your post was not constructive
If you think music should be played in relation to hair length, you need to educate yourself
Lars' sexual orientation does not matter
your post was mindless, unjustified flaming which is not tolerated
|

Oh wow, well i am happy you took the time to type that, thats probably a temp ban, and wow, 12 posts, i am proud, Just a shame no-One here gives a **** about what you have to say Go Munki_Magik!!!! :naughty: |
**** it... Everytime when some1 mentions Cliff Burton.. I would cry.. U guys prolly tink im some nuts... But to me, Cliff was the god of bassist... That guy is simply original Metallica (maybe if u dont understand me, what i meant was, this guy is just so metallica, his style his appearance and the way he plays it all suits the name Metallica ) .. And the more his basslines are so interesting.. It's simply another true masterpiece... I used to think bass is just nothing but when I saw the videos from Cliff 'Em All... Now i beg to differ... Simply unforgettable bassline... And what tragic way to lose a talent like this... R.I.P Cliff...
|
Cliff is definately my main bass influence
|
Hey MXican, havn't seen you in a while.
Yeah, if you havn't seen Cliff play on Cliff 'Em All, try and see it some time because it's just brilliant. |

Although the only clips I saw from Cliff was Cliff 'Em All... And know a little from him... Definitely I would say he was the best bassist ever... He is not only good but as well as creative in writting music... |
