Well, what songs have you heard and liked by CoB?
in your face,

I am ashamed(sp?) to admit it but i only heard that song three weeks ago...

Apocalyptic Raids 04-10-2006 06:09 AM

if that was aimed at me, i just downloaded hate crew deathroll.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-10-2006 06:17 AM

Grego1985 04-10-2006 06:53 AM

I heard Are You Dead Yet? 1st from a Metal Hammer CD then i saw my mate listening to them on MSN and he sent me Bed of Razors and Lake Bodom across. :)
My rankings of the albums,

1. Hatebreeder--- 10
2. Something Wild---9.7
3. Hate Crew Deathroll---9.0
4. Tokyo Warhearts ---8.9
5. Follow The Reaper --- 8.0
6. AYDY ---7.5

Being ranked 6th is a bad thing.
Fixed. AYDY was pretty awful. I know Alexi hurt his arm and all, but that doesn't mean that he had to totally Americanize his sound.

Shred Danson 04-10-2006 09:19 AM

American =/= bad.

i agree
American =/= bad.
American = bad

i can't think of any american band, who got famous in the last five years and is good.
only the older bands are awesome, but the newer ones are crap.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-10-2006 09:37 AM

America has plently of fantastic underground bands.
both bands exist a long time... i said, the last five years or so.
actually, you said POPULAR in the last 5 years...

You are correct, sir!

kurrpt 04-10-2006 12:20 PM

/takes a bow

You could easily say the pop music the states that plagues the radio is primarily crap, but to say ALL music...

i think you can see where im going with this :p

Shred Danson 04-10-2006 01:19 PM

I don't see how someone can call a LOT of stuff coming out these days, metal-wise, crap. I mean, Shadows fall may not be thrash, but they do make some great music, you can't deny that. Lamb of God as well. many of the bands in the "mainstream" today are only getting so much flak because of their popularity. At least I think that's the case.

lamb_of_goddrummer 04-10-2006 03:00 PM

Question from a while back, but what the hell. The first song I heard from bodom was Sixpounder. After hearing that I downloaded quite a bit of bodom.

Silenius 04-10-2006 03:52 PM

Hey, I just did a Silent Night Bodom Night cover, tell me what you guys think. (I havn't added the solo yet. Some parts are sloppy but I'm too lazy to fix them, like out of bends and stuff.)

i liked it... well played. the only thing i didn't like was the distortion ...

Silenius 04-10-2006 04:17 PM

Well thats what you get when you plug your guitar into a Death Metal Distortion and then straight into the computer. :p

oh :lol: this explains everything :thumb:

MRDuCran 04-10-2006 04:31 PM

It was average. As you say, most bends were out and the sweep picking section needs a bit of work.

Silenius 04-10-2006 04:33 PM
It was average. As you say, most bends were out and the sweep picking section needs a bit of work.
Yeah, I'll fix the bends later. The sweep section was done first try without any warm-up, I'll go back later and do it.

Btw: I learned half the parts right before recording them. :lol:

MRDuCran 04-10-2006 04:37 PM

Hardly anyone can play that sweep section right because the phrasing of it is diffferent to most sweep exercises that exist.

e-----15-19-15----------
b-17-------------17-----
g--------------------16--

The high B is the 3rd note in a triplet and usually you'll find it at the start of a triplet.
