What's it like compared to Who Will Survive...? (it's the only one I own by them) - I'm listening to it now.
It just finished downloading so ill let you know son. |
I haven't been home much the past couple of days, but when I am it's all Girl Talk and Cursive.
|
Wow the new Murder By Death is actually pretty good.
When I heard the single they put out beforehand I had pretty low expectations, but I like this. Brother is a really cool song. |
Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow
What the hell is Gab rapping about in Release pt.2? |
Yeah, Goo is probably my least favorite SY record out of it and Daydream Nation, Sister, Sonic Nurse, and EVOL.
Daydream Nation is amazing.
Despite bad word of mouth, I still bought Goo. The main reason being the cover; I just love that picture. Dirty Boots is a good song though. |
Just watched Jools Holland. The last for a while, unfortunately, but at least it was a good one. There was some Cockney guy with an acoustic guitar rapping (Plan B), and he was actually surprisingly good. Album's not out yet, but I hope I remember to give it a listen when it is. I felt a bit sorry for him though, being the only other man-and-guitar in a show with a guy called Raul Midon. With luck I'll be buying this guy's album in the very near future - based on this one song at least, he has a great voice, great skill at the guitar (along with an almost clawed right hand to play it) and the ability to imitate a trumpet almost perfectly. The Divine Comedy, who I haven't heard about in years, also sounded pretty good.
And the Flaming Lips playing War Pigs was interesting, too. |
Was the song "State of Mind"? Good song, that.
|
I don't think I listen to music anymore.
|

Was the song "State of Mind"? Good song, that
Yeah, that's the one.
Raul Midon is awesome, he plays wth Jason Mraz sometimes. Mraz and Stevie Wonder guested on his latest album, if I remember correctly.
Yeah, they mentioned that Stevie Wonder appeared on the album. No one spoke of Mraz, though. |
Flaming Lips played War Pigs? :upset:
The one friday night I decided to go out, I miss them, The Strokes and Plan B! Been diggin' the new Cursive CD. and ATDI - In/Casino Out |

Yea, I like that one as well. I can see this being good driving music. |
Little is as powerful as Entertainment! by Gang of Four. They never let up, which is the great part. Right when you think they'll sink into the same cymbally drum beat and bouncy bass groove from the last track, they once again surprise you with a fresh version of their signature style. It's amazing.

I got the Misfits box set and I cant stop listening to it. Good stuff.
|
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Two Gallants John Fogerty has the coolest voice ever. |
The Vida Blue/Ten Grand
Possibly the only emo/screamo band that rivals Off Minor. |
Sebadoh - III
This kind of really lo-fi, personal recording makes me wish I could sing. I can imagine wanting to write songs like these. Just incredibly simple on the surface, and completely honest and on-my-own-terms. |
Rather Ripped is so solid. I've just been listening to that and various Nick Cave tracks.
|
 My last.FM is going to be loaded with Misfits. I just downloaded a Bronx album and I like it so far. |

Alias and Tarsier - Brookland/Oaklyn
|
I've been digging DNTELs Early Works For Me If It Works For You and the fact that Search and Destroy by The Stooges and Staralfur by Sigur Ros were in The Life Aquatic, which I watched a little while ago.
I'm gonna have Slayer and Nelly Furtado on this weeks last.fm list. Oddly good combination, somehow. |
Search and Destroy is definitely the perfect song for the part it's used in. That's my favorite part of the movie. Sebadoh - III Black Flag - My War Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear The Heart... That YLT album is becoming one of my all-time favorites. I want to start listening to their other albums, and I've downloaded most of them, but that one is just so perfect. |
Atone - Un An
|
Alias and Tarsier - Brookland/Oaklyn
Have you heard the Alias and Ehren album? |
Not yet. :(
|
Look for that, seriously. Its excellent.

Never been able to find this one or Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock, or whatever it's called. Sebadoh is so solid. Listening to Tom Ze and Harry Nilsson, trying to decide stuff. |
Apparently the Bronx are playing a show near me for 15 bucks soon.
